We were in Sai Wan and passed by this 十二味熱辣火鍋莊. I remembered that we had tried 十二味 in North Point before and the food there was quite good and economical. Although their names were a bit different, I suppose they should be similar? When we arrived during lunch hour on Sat, it was full of young people and delivery guys waiting for take-aways. It was also quite full with dining in eaters when we walked inside.
Like the one in North Point, the lunch sets were very economical but the choices seemed a bit different. Each lunch set included an appetiser, a bowl of rice and 慾望酸梅. You could top up your drink to get a soft drink at $5 or other more special drink at $8. There was no service charge for lunch sets. We came in a group of three this time and ordered 3 lunch sets to share. We wanted to try some new meat dishes and ordered both 泡椒牛肉 and 泡椒鱸魚腩. We remembered the 麻辣香鍋 last time was very good so encored but this time we went for a healthier vegetarian option. We placed our orders by scanning their QR code.

Very soon our appetisers and drinks arrived altogether. We topped up one of our sets to get 100% Pure Coconut Water at $8. The name of the plum juice was so funny. The plum juice was very tasty and not overly sweet. Good to cool down your tongues after eating spicy food.
涼菜 (included in lunch set)
The cold dish was sliced 萵苣 in spicy sauce. They were very thin and crispy yet not too spicy. Yummy!

The sauce was of the right degree of spiciness which was quite appetising and not overly spicy even to me. Very interesting, the sauce was actually a bit sour. There were around 8 pieces of fish of varying size. The fish was fresh but had quite a number of small bones. There were loads of sliced 萵苣, 雲耳, some celery and chili. The veggies tasted pretty good being cooked in this sauce. Quite yummy indeed.

It was essentially the same as 泡椒鱸魚腩 except for the meat. The portion was bigger as there were over 10 slices of beef which were very tender! I personally preferred this dish more.
全素麻辣香鍋

Like last time, we asked for 走辣 for the 全素麻辣香鍋. The sauce was slightly sweet which was very tasty. The portion was big with loads of fresh and crispy bean sprouts, thin crispy lotus root and starchy potato slices and 雲耳 topped by sesame and coriander. Such combo of veggies enhanced the overall texture of the dish. Yummy.
All the dishes went great with plain rice! Quite a nice place with reasonably good and economical food especially for their lunch sets. Seating was comfortable and interior decoration was very Chinese.
