食Burger，就係要大大力咁Bite落去！

朋友一直介紹我去食北角嘅「The Bite」，話個度嘅雞翼同Burger都幾有水準，可惜一直未有機會去品嚐一番。最近，知道The Bite係西環開左分店，既然你都主動走左入去我嘅地盤，我當然唔可以係Happy Friday放你一馬啦！The Bite FLame係香港大學站B2出口行一條短短的斜路就到。沿途其實都開左唔少新食肆，有機會嘅我要黎逐一挑戰一番！門面簡單，半開放式的設計，適合近日開始翻風的日子，唔需要開大冷氣。主要都係偏向美國同墨西哥風格的設計。Burger款式唔算太多，可見餐廳主打味道紮實的Burger為主，唔會好似坊間某些大品牌的Burger店有成幾十款唔同的Burger做到濫哂。貴精不貴多！由於朋友未到齊，所以叫住個厚切薯條食住先。薯條夠粗夠薯味，配上酸忌廉都已經係一般Burger店的做法了。呢度的酸忌廉再加上少許黑松露油，令味道豐富起來。食完個薯條後朋友都到齊，可以開始Burger派對了！講到Burger，我覺得最Classic的配合就係「漢堡扒丶芝士丶煙肉」三重奏，所以我就點左個Crispy Bacon Cheese Burger。當時我的想法係...「快D影完呢張

 Burger款式唔算太多，可見餐廳主打味道紮實的Burger為主，唔會好似坊間某些大品牌的Burger店有成幾十款唔同的Burger做到濫哂。貴精不貴多！

 由於朋友未到齊，所以叫住個厚切薯條食住先。薯條夠粗夠薯味，配上酸忌廉都已經係一般Burger店的做法了。呢度的酸忌廉再加上少許黑松露油，令味道豐富起來。食完個薯條後朋友都到齊，可以開始Burger派對了！

 本來食Burger我比較鍾意5成熟，但係呢間餐廳冇問到我地嘅要求，所以我地都交比佢地去決定。肉大約煎到7成熟，但係可以見到肉汁重係非常豐富，配以新鮮的蕃茄同生菜，而面包亦都非常軟熟。不過，底部的面包厚度較單薄，無法完全承抬上面約1.5CM厚的豐富肉味。建議下層面包厚度需要稍為增加，以提升成個Burger的完整度。

 朋友點的墨西哥辣肉醬漢堡，少少辣的肉醬多到流哂出黎，女士食呢個包記住小心食到成身都係。肉醬的味道溫和唔會太辣，味道微微搶過漢堡扒成為主角。雖然酸瓜丶生菜同蕃茄唔足夠抗衡強勢的肉味，但對於食肉獸的我們黎講味道非常惹味，建議可以提升肉醬的辣味或酸瓜的酸味。

 朋友點的Back Bacon Cheese Burger其實同我點的Crispy Burger味道相差不遠，唯一分別係採用了大塊的煙肉，煙肉味道比起Crispy Bacon淡，但多了一種煙燻味道，肉汁的飽滿程度一樣係咁豐富，味道上較為適合女士的口味。

 又係一個滿到瀉嘅Burger，用上了新鮮的蘑菇，加上特濃的醬汁，味道同之前三個Burger的風格與味道截然不同。可惜濃厚的醬汁味搶去了漢堡扒的香味，食落口肉的香味大大減低了，冇好似之前3個Burger一樣帶來衝擊性的味道。

 朋友話北角的The Bite雞翼好好食所以我地都點左一份中辣的雞翼，配以酸忌廉同西芹。老實講，冇我想像中咁好食。中辣的味道的確係惹味，食到我D朋友辣到之之聲。醬料的辣味主要來自加入左辣椒仔一類的墨西哥醬料，味道夠哂辣，可惜辣中偏酸，唔係我杯荼。

    This new place is a sister of a place in North Point. Canadian themes abound. The menu is very varied. We have had the chicken wings, bacon cheeseburger, pork ribs and mmmmm poutine. The food is excellent. The Poutine is sumptuous. The ribs are very tender. Slight disappointed at the burger having a cheap cheese slice on top but the meat and bun were very good. Add to that some superb cocktails including a rude grown up root beer float and you have a tantalising mix. Service is spot on and the p

    Service is spot on and the prices are very reasonable. It's rare you can get a burger for under $70.

    We will return regularly as long as they keep up he high levels of service and good quality

    The other day I had a craving for some fries. Unfortunately, I couldn't think of any place in my neighborhood that had fries and wasn't terrible. So I went on a small trek to try The Big Bite. I tried to find out some information about this place online, but there's almost nothing. It doesn't have a website. Everyone agrees it is "Canadian themed", HK magazine says, "Chinese Canadian-owned" (though how they know that, they don't say), and it appears as though their "poutine" is not the Canadian

     The menu is a little bizarre. Here is the description of the cheeseburger: " ". That's right, nothing. I could guess that it comes with cheese and a hamburger, but beyond that, I didn't know. So I asked, and I was told that it came with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mustard, ketchup, AND mayo. First of all, is that a Canadian thing? Mustard, ketchup, AND mayo? As Hank Hill says, taste the meat, not the condiments. I asked for the condiments on the side and I got the three aforementioned, and some type of relish. There was one bonus ingredient-- although the server didn't mention, when I explicitly asked what was on the burger, that there were pickles, there were pickles (a lot of them, they're hiding under the patty in the picture). That's fine, I like pickles on my burger, I'm just a little surprised. There's no description on the menu, and the servers don't know what's on the burgers. Do they just think no one could ever care about what comes on the burger? Maybe I'm alone, but I care.
    I've seen the roll the burger comes on described as a kaiser roll. It seemed a little bit soft for a kaiser roll, but I have no better description. The meat patty was a great size, nice meaty texture, cooked appropriately, and reasonably juicy. As you can see, the lettuce and tomato were crisp and vibrant, respectively. The whole thing came together rather nicely, and I have to say that this was a good burger. I didn't think the bun was that great, and it started to fall apart by the end; there were perhaps too much pickles and too few onions; and the mustard was dijon rather than plain yellow mustard. All the same, I enjoyed it alot.

     The fries came mostly after I'd finished my burger, and that's after I asked after them. You have to order them separately off the menu, they don't come with the burger (is THAT a Canadian thing?). I thought they were OK. Reasonably crisp on the outside, not quite a mashed potato texture on the inside, but getting there-- and seasoned with a little bit more than salt. I didn't eat a whole bunch of them and the server asked me if I didn't like them. I didn't say this, but I was thinking, "look, fries accompany a burger, you eat your burger WITH the fries. If you bring them after I finish my burger, what am I supposed to do, sit around for 10 minutes eating plain potato sticks by themselves with no respite? I finished my drink as well too, should I buy another drink just because you can't be bothered to bring my food out at the same time?" Of course, I didn't say that, because probably not the server's fault.
    But in the end, good burger, OK fries, and it's not that far from where I work, so I can see myself coming back. In fact, while the fries are only OK, they the perfect type of fry for holding up to cheese and gravy, so I may come back in particular for the less-than-authentic poutine.

      對北角Big Bite嘅漢堡包同水牛雞翼相當滿意，作為孝順女知道有間就腳得多嘅新分店～ 梗係要帶老豆去試吓啦 加拿大主題嘅設計有種山系+秋天嘅氣息Waited 30 minutes for our burgers as the kitchen is overloaded with a BDay lunch orders我點嘅The Big Bite 有D過熟，但係老豆嘅Fat Bastard (double patty + double cheese + bacon)做到medium嘅效果不過最開心都係牛肉同麵包都有grill marks!         It is so nice to have an one-day holiday in the middle of the week to relieve the toughness from Monday to Wednesday.Got up quite late on this Dragon Boat Festival day and decided to wander around in the neighbourhood to see what's new to have a late lunch.I've always been a fan of hamburger, especially those with home-made ham.         Got up quite late on this Dragon Boat Festival day and decided to wander around in the neighbourhood to see what's new to have a late lunch.

        I've always been a fan of hamburger, especially those with home-made ham. Eventually we found a nearby newly opened burger place called The Big Bite Flame-Grill .

        The place was located in a quiet neighborhood while also easily accessed through the Shek Tong Tsui Municipal Services Building.

         The decoration was exceptional North American style, with a Canadian flag being earthed into the floor in front of the bar area. And a few playful homage to the hunting history of the wild North, heads of a few stuffed animals were being lined up on the wall. I especially like the head of brown bear, soooo lovely. A big tall wooden table sited in the middle of the shop creating a nice stall to chill out.

        English speaking server let us choose wherever we want to sit, as the door was widely opened and therefore air-conditioning couldn’t hold within the room, we decided to sit far from the door to avoid the hot air from outside.

         Simply delicious Latte on the ice provided a rich flavor and cool refreshment, making its irresistable in this melting temperature. While Iced Mocha came with classic fresh cream and chocolate combination blended in so well with the flavour of coffee, offering a tasty and abundant feel.

         The restaurant offered a wide range of burgers and other choices of foods including hot dogs, fries, steak and even all day breakfast. I spotted the Big Bite Burger ($65) as my lunch today. The burger came with a delightful look, with the 6 oz. Canadian Sirloin Patty. The burger was massive with toasted bun on the top and bottom, plus fresh lettuce, tomato and onion. The patty in the middle was chunky and chubby, very tender and dripping with the juice of the meat. The bun was crispy on its top while soft inside, together with the fresh and juicy vege and the fatty luscious meat made the burger so full of flavor.

         We also ordered a Cheese Burger ($70), the texture is about the same as the Big Bite Burger, just adding an additional piece of cheese. The cheese melted and blended into the Patty making the burger even more mouthful.

        We stayed there for quite a while, enjoying a relaxing afternoon. Its not just a cozy place for nice burgers but should be also a good chill out point for happy hour beering with friends. We will definitely come back again.

          今日有青春姪女陪我呢個老嘢食tea，仲要請我食添！果真係懂得敬老嘅好青年！！先來個caesar salad ($65) － 沙律菜新鮮爽甜，不過醬汁就略為多咗D。Crispy bacon cheese burger ($75) － 漢堡包面微微燒過，麵包內軟外脆，漢堡排煎得剛好5成熟左右，牛肉味濃，肉質鬆軟多汁，配搭香脆煙肉同軟滑芝士非常惹味，中間夾有酸瓜，生菜同蕃茄，仲有微青辣椒更加開胃！Cihk Poutine ($48) － 熱辣辣嘅煙肉芝士烤汁薯條，上面仲要加隻太陽蛋，見到已經開心晒！粗大嘅薯條沾滿芝士同牛肉汁，味道濃郁，滋味無窮！Peppermint tea ($36) － 用twining茶包，不過不失。Oreo milkshake (＄60) － 極邪惡之奶昔，朱古力味道不太濃，奶昔亦算幼滑，如果能夠造得濃稠一D會更加好。呢度不設加一服務費，可能位置比較隱蔽嘅關係，所以人流仍唔算好多，店員友善，的確係一個假日休憩嘅好地方！

          第一次與這店邂逅，是在二零零八年。從來也只在九龍區活動的我認識了第一個住在港島的朋友，那年時時到她家，以溫習功課為名，四處覓食為實，那份情懷至今仍讓我回味。由七姊妹道到渣華道，偶然得知我心中數一數二的漢堡店在西環開了家分店，便二話不說拉著男友前往嚐嚐、以示支持。由香港大學站走過來大約五至十分鐘，店家就在石塘咀街市後面的橫巷，這條路在讀書時走過不少次，但從來沒留意原來有店在內營業。一如總店的風格，一邊牆上掛了不少可愛的「動物頭顱」，一邊牆上用烏絲燈勾勒出代表加國的楓葉圖案，店內播放著輕快的音樂，營造一種放鬆的氛圍。Super Healthy Salad $78近年流行健康飲食，這沙律更是集合了當中幾款super food，包括羽衣甘藍、藜麥、楓糖合桃等，加上費達芝士、藍莓乾和蕃茄沙沙，材料配搭新鮮，清爽開胃，令人胃口大開。Cheese Burger $70一直以來對這兒的漢堡都非常有信心，吃下的一刻已忍不住瞪大眼睛大叫好吃；手打牛肉充滿炭燒的香味，肉汁四濺、調味得宜，配上蕃茄、紫洋蔥、生菜、醃青瓜和秘製醬汁，口感豐富，味道和滿足度都比北角分店有過之而無不及。Crispy Skin-on

           Crispy Skin-on Fries w/ Truffle Mayo $23
          愛薯條的我倆又怎會忘了它？還原基本步只點最普通的炸薯條，成品新鮮熱辣、香脆可口，蘸些帶有濃濃松露香的蛋黃醬同吃著實美味，最後和男友沾得一滴也不淨。

           Hot Buffalo Wings $65
          一客六件的炸雞翼有六款口味選擇，我們選的辣味不算突出，不過雞翼剛炸起，味道甜甜酸酸頗為正宗，而伴在旁用來蘸西芹的藍芝士醬也夠香，整體不過不失。

           和另一分店相類似，這兒都是自助點餐的，當餐點預備好再由店員送上食物，Soft Opening期間不設加一。是晚沒心情只想喝水，沒點上其他飲品，埋單二百多元，整體吃得我和男友十分滿意滿足。

          踏出門外時心裡默默告訴自己，有機會要和朋友一起到來，就如八年前一樣。

            Stumbled across this place by accident when checking the opening hours of a local place we've been to a few times. Looked nice from the outside. Got there just before 9 but noticed they open till 11. Soft launch benefits included some nice deals on drinks. Canadian theme was cool without being cheesy. I saw Poutine on the menu which for a Brit like me is cheesy chips with gravy. Chose this and some wings to start and ribs to share. And we weren't disappointed. The Poutine was fabulous. Meaty gra

            Soft launch benefits included some nice deals on drinks. Canadian theme was cool without being cheesy. I saw Poutine on the menu which for a Brit like me is cheesy chips with gravy. Chose this and some wings to start and ribs to share. And we weren't disappointed.

            The Poutine was fabulous. Meaty gravy and tons of cheese. Wings likewise, not enormous but very flavoursome. You get a choice of strengths and some nice albeit not too strong blue cheese dip.

            But the ribs were the star. Super soft and a nice burnt edge. Too good to describe. And a steal at $148 although the menu did say they were a launch price. Drinks wise we chose a Shiraz and a grown up coke float with vodka.

            Entire bill came to under $400 which was a stew. Hopefully they will keep their standards up as they get more popular but as they have a branch in north point I suspect this place will have legs.

            Well, 由細到大都咁鍾意食，一定要係英國腸，eggs一定要sunny sides up.Well, 呢兜就係洋sausages中嘅bristish sausages, 應該係cumberland lincolnshire之類白皮豬.腸, 烤到金香, 肉味濃過germany, 亦juicy as well多啲嚼勁, 同少時喺啲殖民地會所食嘅感覺一樣, 食時要用個sausages督落啲黃嚟食先夠過癮!brings back many remembers!

              The big bite本身間店係係北角最近開多左間分店係西環好近男友屋企，所以就同佢去試下喇睇睇menu先，食物種類唔算好多都係以西式食物/小食為主好似Burger呀、薯條呀，buffalo wings咁Crispy Bacon Cheese Burger $75其實個賣相都幾似快餐店點知食落完全唔係果回事味道拍得住出面d主打賣burger既餐廳首先個包係熱辣辣，外脆內鬆個patty外圍又特登煎到少少burntd少少燶嘅香味為個patty加左唔少分patty既生熟度拿捏得非常好，食落十分juicy另外個jalapeño男友好中意，因為好夠辣唔駛100蚊有咁高質素，抵！Chili Cheese Hotdog $53一睇到都流口水，d芝士必晒出黎咁，好邪惡呢個chilli cheese帶少少辣面頭d肉醬入面加左腰豆，食落多D層次熱狗個腸可以揀british sausage或9寸珍寶腸我地揀左條英倫腸試下 (洋腸?哈哈)個皮好脆，而肉入面有好多Herbs所以食落無咁膩總體黎講，係又抵又好食而且坐得好舒服想同朋友搵個地方casual食下野吹下水就岩哂呢次試住少少先，下次一定會再黎試下佢個dr

              首先個包係熱辣辣，外脆內鬆
              個patty外圍又特登煎到少少burnt

              總體黎講，係又抵又好食
              而且坐得好舒服
              想同朋友搵個地方casual食下野吹下水就岩哂
              呢次試住少少先，下次一定會再黎試下佢個dry age排
