又陪朋友發掘隱世居酒屋,今次我地去到上環半山!!小店位置比較隱世,開業邁向十年嘅小店,平時都係靠熟客口耳相傳。朋友好中意飲酒,呢到唔止有清酒飲,佢地仲入咗一款全港獨有嘅清酒杯,呢款杯薄到好似雞蛋殼咁,用佢嚟飲清酒,會比一般清酒杯去飲到更加美味。去到都係廚師發辦,由一開始嘅前菜已經充滿驚喜。主廚Whiskey 好好傾,每個菜式都好細心同我地逐一介紹,例如𩶘魚先用利尻昆布漬完,放上岩鹽上面吸味幾分鐘先再灸燒,油香會更突出。前菜蒜頭漬超級好食,因為無咗條芯,食落完全唔辣!深海池魚同拖羅都熟成過,魚味更出更濃郁。呢到高質食材仲有好多,除咗有馬糞海膽,仲有北海道厚岸蠔,主廚仲介紹神秘果俾我地食,真係好神奇呀,食完神秘果之後,食檸檬都唔會食到酸味淨係得甜味😳😳原來神秘果仲有好好嘅醫療價值,對痛風都有幫助。跟住仲有唔少熟食串燒都好好味,另外豚肋里竽煮都好入味,而魚湯烏冬好味到,我連個湯都飲埋😂食到最後,就有海鹽雪糕做結尾。哎呀,呢餐真係好滿足😂

朋友好中意飲酒,呢到唔止有清酒飲,佢地仲入咗一款全港獨有嘅清酒杯,呢款杯薄到好似雞蛋殼咁,用佢嚟飲清酒,會比一般清酒杯去飲到更加美味。

係我既愚昧令我睇少左人地,明明人地係好FULL!! 呢獲真係 'sumimasen' (すみません)。

我愚昧既後果就係要等到8點,所以我落返去兜圈,做下運動一陣可以食多D。

8點黎到,入去係要上幾級樓梯,佢舖位既設計係咁,佢就係呢個位置比人地除鞋入座,呢一part有小小唔太舒服,因為比較亂同成地都係鞋,唔夠櫃去放,搞到成地都係鞋, (無影相),未太習慣影。

之後入座係坐凹左落去個隻,即係佢地黎serve你既時候係要踎/跪底先serve到。雖然你埃落後面,就feel到人地同你係郁下郁下個D感覺,但係總算係咁啦,有個私人空間比你喎! 不過如果4人坐其實都有點兒迫,當日我地2個人所以十分GOOD。

今日餓,行左咁耐,所以見野就叫,酒又開左2支720。不過講返野食,刺身拼盤都好正常,新鮮咩? OK GE,我覺得可以,不過個醬油我就覺得調得淡左小小。見有原隻海膽,就叫左一隻,過左陣佢地同我地講,仲淨返2隻,有無興趣要埋佢呀,我地2個人,所以OK AR,要埋! 但係有點兒失望既,因為唔甜,我就覺得em..ok la..仲食左...半生熟牛啦,串燒啦,其實我又唔係太記得食左咩啦,但係我腦海入面就係,可以再黎既,不過真係咁岩要經過呢面又咁岩想食日本野又咁岩個日想洗下錢咁,都有機會既。

The beef sashimi pictured in the first photo was super delicious! The beef flavour was not too overwhelming even though it was raw - I would suggest using more sauce/salt for maximum enjoymentThe chicken meatball skewer was sauced to perfection and its crunchy texture only added to the experience. I’m not usually a huge fan of chicken meatball skewers, but my friend recommended it to me so I had to try - I wasnt disappointed!This crab and prawn were pricier than the other dishes, but their cream

This crab and prawn were pricier than the other dishes, but their creaminess and freshness made them worth 😛

I booked two days in advance for its Sunday brunch buffet and I have even taken the initiative to call the restaurant to reconfirm the booking on the day, but I was still being told that they have messed up my booking and no table is available.This restaurant is located in a rather isolated street uphill and if you don’t want to go all the way up to mid-levels and then find out there is no table for you even you booked (and reconfirmed!), there are lots of better choices of Japanese restaurants

This restaurant is located in a rather isolated street uphill and if you don’t want to go all the way up to mid-levels and then find out there is no table for you even you booked (and reconfirmed!), there are lots of better choices of Japanese restaurants in the Soho/Sheung Wan areas.

今次係第二次過來了,呢度比較隱世,人流唔多,大多數都係附近街坊過來幫襯,今日同埋朋友一齊過來食好野,刺身係必點的,食落感覺好新鮮,鹽焗銀杏果每次都會點,銀杏果味道略苦,入口軟糯,鹽焗係最好食的,雞肉軟骨串爽口好食,口感唔會好乾,仲有肉汁先,其他食物水準都唔錯的。

This was my third time to have dinner. Twice was sake pairing dinner at this place. One time was crab, and this time was snapper. I like the fact that each time I get to try different sake and these labels are not the ones you see all the time. This was my third time to have dinner. Twice was sake pairing dinner at this place. One time was crab, and this time was snapper.

I like the fact that each time I get to try different sake and these labels are not the ones you see all the time. Some are smaller labels but taste very refreshing.

Dishes prepared quite matched the sakes. The sake “sommelier” knows his sakes and gave good over view of each label.

Staffs are always friendly and ambience is good.

芝士磨菇焗帶子
一上碟已經聞到好好好好香嗱,芝士味好濃郁,帶子嘅鮮味亦唔輸洩




另外仲有叫燒和牛,已經忍唔住食左唔記得影低,脂肪比例啱啱好,好鬆化,入口唔洗點咬已經自己sir左食道!

They even have you leave your shoes at the entrance and provide slippers if you'd like.This spot also seems to have a following; we came early on a Sunday and most tables were already booked, so the bar it was for us.Service was extremely attentive.THE NOT SO COOL: there's a lot of food to choose from, and taste-wise, they're ok, but portions are small and pricey. THE NOT SO COOL: there's a lot of food to choose from, and taste-wise, they're ok, but portions are small and pricey. Expect to pay $22-98HK per skewer. For something more substantial you can order soup (shabu shabu or udon for example.)

I did like that deep fried cheese doe... I'd come back for that, haha.

The restaurant adopted traditional Japanese Izakaya culture and accommodates customers in their three small cubicles, and customers have to take of their shoes before entering the shop. Customers may either stay barefoot or borrow their slippers to make yourself more comfortable.

When it comes to food, Hige Izakaya uses all fresh ingredients, while some of them are imported from Japan directly from time to time. Therefore, there are a lot of raw sashimi dishes, Japanese fish that you can't find in Hong Kong, as well as some innovative skewers and small bites for you to go down with your nice drinks.

Hanger Steak ($58/2pc)

The hanger steak skewers were cooked perfectly and they complemented perfectly with the Japanese Yuzu sauce. The meat was juicy and tender, while the sauce was savory and very rich in Japanese yuzu flavour. We are so going to try this at home but we wish we can buy that yuzu sace!

Abalone Cream Korokke ($58/2pc)

The Korokke used a abalone shell with filling of a mixture of cream and diced abalone meat. The flavour of abalone was subtle and light, by adding cream to it made it a lot creamier in texture and filling. What a good value for 2 abalones for just $58!

The outer layer was super crispy, just like tempura, while the inside was soft and smooth, just like a savory version of cream brulee.

Red Shrimp from Spain ($98/pc)

The flavour of this shrimp was just over the top and its head was the best part! First of all, the shrimp was salted just right, and the colour was a lot more red than any other shrimps. The shell was tough but crispy at the same time. The shrimps were pre-cut from the middle so it did take us much effort to de-shell it in front of so many other people without embarrassment.

After taking the first bite, our mouths were filled with very strong shrimp aroma and it won't go away! Then we started licking the head and we felt like we have just eaten some shrimp caviar. The aroma enhanced even more and it went down to our throats. We could tell the shrimp was so worth and money and we felt like one is just not enough!

Grilled Grunt Fish was our choice and we think we picked the right one. The fish was cooked perfect that the meat could just fall off the bone. The fresh was soft and silky-like. We think Japanese fish has a unique taste that is perfume-like and less fishy then Chinese steamed fish. By grilling the fish, it trapped all the juice and flavour without losing it from steaming or deep frying.
