If the saying is "Winner, winner chicken dinner", then I really want to lose! In a city where restaurants struggle to make decent chicken rice (which really isn't that hard) this one really takes the cake. It's hands down the worst chicken rice in the city. The chicken was so rubbery that I felt like I was chewing bubble gum. Did they take one of those toy rubber chicken that they give to dogs and cook it? There was also no flavour to the chicken and they served it over a bed a bean sprouts. Who does that?!! And the soy garlic sauce they splashed into the third compartment of the container they served this in was totally off.
Not to mention, when I went in the staff told me to sit anywhere I wanted. But then when I was half way through my meal -- chewing the rubber chicken took a good 10 minutes -- the staff asked me if I could move to another table so they could seat 3 people together. It was just rude! Those other customers could have waited and no proper restaurant would have done this to a customer.
I feel sorry for Hongkongers who think this is good chicken rice. It's just wrong in every way. It's a disgrace to chicken rice and shouldn't even try to market itself as such. They should say their specialty is 'Rubber chicken rice'. And charging $55 for the set meal is highway robbery for your wallet. You're better off getting KFC. All this said, this place is still better than that horrific self proclaimed "Vietnamese pho" restaurant called Spring Field in Wan Chai.
