On Friday 14th, 2017, I was in a hurry with my family to watch a Miyazaki Concert. My mum gave us two options - to eat at Admiralty - the interchange station or to eat at the Concert Hall. After discussing with my sister, we decided to head on over to Pacific Place to try out some new cuisine.

Once we got past the clothes stores, this restaurant instantly caught my eye - Dim Sum Library. I hadn't eaten Dim Sum for a few weeks, so I was keen to try some. I suggested the restaurant to my mum, and she told me how all of her friends, including herself, went here before and loved every single dish. Interested on how a single restaurant could have 5 grown women fall heads over heels, I decided to check it out.

We went up to the counter and asked the smiling waitress for 3 seats. She asked if we could leave before 7:30, and that was perfect, as we both wanted to leave at that time due to the concert, and were hungry enough to finish eating in an hour and a half. We obliged and entered.

The first thing that caught my eye was the mysterious, yet glamorous, bar table. Near the walls were several different bottles of wine, beer, tequila and more, and from some very interesting places and times. The wall with the checkered lighted helped illuminate the inner workings of the ravine of tables.

When we entered the dining room, we were seated a four-person table with a hanging drop-light, leaving a circle of light around and on the table. The seats were relatively comfortable, providing good back support and a nice addition to the overall wonderful decor. However, what bothered me the most was that the edges of the chair were too wide, meaning that you couldn't hang a bag without ripping it or hang a purse/briefcase without it slipping off. To whichever staff is reading this right now, I would suggest buying a couple of those baskets that they have in traditional Dim Sum restaurants to let customers place their bags in. This would maintain a good cleanliness for both the bags, and the floor.

Enough talk about the surroundings. Let's talk about the FOOD!!! The first thing that we decided to order was the Mille Feuille Coated Beef Pastry (Not the real name of the dish but it's basically that) When it arrived, I was blown away on how they could turn a classic French pastry and change it into a beautiful, Dim Sum work of art. The layers of pastry perfectly connected with each other, compensating the flavour of the beef, which was rolled to a perfect oval size and cradled into the delicate puff. As I took a bite our of it, the soup of the beef bursted in a explosion of flavour into my mouth. It was beautiful.

After relieving from the wonderful experience, I went on to taste their signature 擔擔小籠包 (hard to explain in English). It came in a traditional Dim Sum Tray, coloured bright orange. It looked delicious. Following the tradition of eating 小籠包s, I carefully placed one on my spoon and sipped all of the soup out, and it was truly astounding. The heat of the soup was not too hot as to burn my tongue, yet not too cold so to make it seem uncooked. It was the true Yin&Yang of the 小籠包 soup universe. Next was the beef. I realised that the chef mixed a concoction of spicy oil and beef juice, so it made the beef seem very spicy - and that was my favourite meal!

The last thing that I had was the Iberico Ham Fried Rice. I have to say - this one made me a little bit disappointed. The Iberico ham was in these teeny tiny pieces with maybe 5 pieces in total. The rice also came with prawns, which was not written on the menu. I am unable to eat prawns due to allergies (with straight digestion, not with vicinity, so whoever out there was scared for me, it's fine). This used up around 15 minutes of my time seperating the prawns from the rice (I know, first world problems.) All in all, the rice was good and the XO Sauce that came with it was wonderful.

Overall, I would HIGHLY suggest this restaurant, and I would definitely come back again.

题外话/补充资料: Try to come at an early time, such as 5:30 - 6:00. They are usually booked up from 7:00 till 9:30. Order one by one, as usuallly, I have a HUGE appetite, but after three dishes, I was already thinking I ate too much! Don't overorder!!!
