I rarely visit Tsuen Wan but knew that this place is renowned for its mixian so we decided to come and give it a try. Arriving at 4pm, there was no queue and we could walk straight in. Staff was welcoming and super friendly. She asked us if we have been here before. We answered no and she started to introduce us their signature mixian and suggest us the level of spiciness that we should choose. I finally ordered the signature pork belly mixian and requested mild spicy. It came with spring onions
I finally ordered the signature pork belly mixian and requested mild spicy. It came with spring onions, pickled vegetable and bean sprouts. Portion was generous, there were 7-8 pieces of pork belly in the bowl. Pork belly was the marinated type, it was spicy itself with a tender texture so no need to chew for long to swallow. Mixian was cooked al dente. Soup was sour, spicy and with a hint of nutty flavour. However, it was a bit oily and spicy for me.

Overall, I'd say it's a pretty good mixian place to go considering the affordable price and heartwarming service. But the mixian it serves isn't delicious to a level that I'll queue for or revisit on purpose.
