We waited over half an hour with a light drizzle over our heads on a hot summer day to get a couple of seats in this cafe. Then we were told their signature shrimp noodle was sold out. We ordered everything i.e. 2 remaining noodle dishes & the Kaya Toasts, iced tea with condensed milk and coffee with condensed milk. Nothing here resemble the familiar Laksa noodle dishes we had in SG or Malaysia, the spices and flavour were toned down, the shrimps obviously frozen version were tasteless, the soup tasted like dish water.
Our order for Kaya toasts was forgotten and when it actually came the toasts were stale chewy and the Kaya custard filling tasted like it just came out of the fridge and not worth mentioning.
If a cafe just have a few items on the menu I would expect these to be done well and authentic, and I could find neither at this place except overpricing and very uncomfortable seating arrangement.
The only plus for this cafe was the services provided by the friendly staff and if you can speak English it would be easier for both parties.
Will I go there again ? Never , and I will make sure my friends know that too!
