A simple yet super elegant afternoon snack at Island Gourmet by Shangrila 🍻🥪Roast Beef Tartine HKD 130 💭 Favourite part was definitely caramelised onion and pickled and crispy shallots! 💭With intertwining layers of chestnut mousse and clementine compote atop a soft layer of almond sponge cake, definitely a cake that requires professional pastry skills and a lot of work! Now that I bake a fair amount myself, I try to opt for baked goods/cakes that I can’t create myself. This for sure falls within that category and I absolutely loved it!

💭Loved the pistachio cream filling! 😍 The pastry was buttery and the exterior is beautifully glazed, thought the actually pastry layers weren’t as airy and flaky as I was hoping (well tbh I was comparing them to bakehouse so perhaps it’s not exactly a fair comparison🙈)
