LUBUDS was the choice for nice food and long chat with a long-time-no-see old friend in Festival Walk. Arrived at 7, the restaurant was already pretty fully-seated. At first sight, a typical Japanese restaurant with dark atmosphere, but with modern light fixture which reminds me of bee hives. Waiters and waitress were polite and detail-minded. Thin slice of well-grilled pork

Relatively small in size, limited truffle taste

Was expecting surprise, turned out to be a simple one

3. Tea pot soup with maitake and blaze mushroom ($58)

An interesting presentation with a small cup on top on the pot. As if drinking wine when drinking soup with the small cup. Dense mushroom taste. First time trying the blaze mushroom- often heard to be precious with melt-in-the-mouth tender. Not disappointed, soft in texture, though not literally melt-in-the-mouth.
