If you’ve about this place, you’ll understand how difficult it is to secure a booking here 😂 It’s almost impossible to secure a slot at a “regular” meal hour so you really need to try your luck with this place! We stopped by at 11pm on a weekend and finally managed to try this infamous oden spot out! 🍢🇯🇵 Pic 1️⃣: 高汤蛋卷 - $88 hkd 🍳 — A MUST order!! Probably one of the best tamagoyaki’s I’ve ever had. The egg was super light and fluffy, and went perfectly with the flavourful dashi. Pic 2️⃣&3️⃣: 亲子丼 - $98 hkd 🍚🐓🍳 — Just wow. Again, this might be the best oyako don I’ve had in HK. Compared to other oyako don’s I’ve had, this had a bit more moisture to it. The simmered egg was smooth, saucy with the perfect balance of sweetness and savouriness. The chicken pieces were well marinated and super tender as well.Pic 4️⃣: 腐皮福袋 - $58 hkd — Loved this! Wasn’t aware this dish would be served cold but the flavours were so on point! The dashi for this was more savoury, with a stronger bonito flavour to it. The eggplant pieces really soaked up all the flavours really well. Dinner. Seated at bar counter.Here’s what we had. Sashimi platter: mackerel, hamachi, Uni, squid, sea bream Eggplant in dashi (cold dish)Thin white noodles with clams and uni. Loved the broth: sweet Fig covered with thick miso sauce, which was too much and too strong. Beef tendon, turnip topped with bonito shreds and 蒟蒻Mochi-alike wrapped in Beancurd sheet, shaped like 福袋Siu Mai in broth- texture unlike its Chinese counterpart; quite soft.Eel TempuraWasabi mochi as dessert.In summary: yummy oden feast.
