Four of us had a site visit of a property nearby so the restaurant was booked for lunch.we were greeted and seated immediately. The place was noisy but service was attentive. Bread basket was full of warm breadsticks, a pleasant surprise indeed. Little did we know that we were going to have the worst meal in a long time spending over $1000 for the four of us.Lunch was a semi buffet style with salad bar and a a la cart main course. Lunch was a semi buffet style with salad bar and a a la cart main course. Three of us ordered pasta with seafood and the other Hainan chicken rice.
Salad bar choice was bear minimum with two choices of green and some cold mix of green and root vegetable. Nothing spectacular. There was a sashimi bar but we were told it was not included in the salad bar.
Next came the main course. Pasta was so over cooked which was served on a gigantic plate but with a little bowl in the middle. One can finish the pasta in three bites. It was so mushy that reminds me of the canned pasta I used to have when I was in college. On top of this mush was three pieces of sorry looking scallop which was placed under some sprout. Pasta sauce was tomato based but besides the color, nothing reminded me of this nice Italian national fruit (yes, tomato belongs to fruit group). Worst of all, pasta was served luke warm (on the cold side) YUCK..I can cook better pasta with one eye close anytime.
The chicken rice (at $228 plus $40 if thigh was requested) at $268 was so overpriced. If one can excuse the price one certainly can not excuse the poor taste. Chicken was tasteless with rice being really oily.
Dessert and coffee/tea was served there after. Dessert was one of the better dish and coffee was just average.
Overall, this is one of the worst meal in any hotel in Hong Kong for us in a long time.
