Although the entrance and the elevator is a bit sketchy, this place has since become my go-to Indian place. It tastes authentic and delicious and the price doesn't rob your wallet like some of the other places. Although some places in Chungking Mansions are a bit cheaper, I find the quality here to be top notch and far better. In addition, the seating area is clean and very cozy. Everytime we go here, the palak paneer (65HKD) and chicken tikka masala (95HKD) is a must. The palak paneer (spinach with cottage cheese) is vibrant and green, while the amount of cottage cheese is very generous. You can also ask for it to be made with less oil if you're watching your waistline.
The chicken tikka masala is not listed on the menu but they will happily make it for you at your request. The gravy is rich and thick and you can taste the chargrilled flavor of the boneless chicken. Perfect for dipping your naan in!
I've also tried the chana masala (chickpeas) and baingnan bharta (eggplant) before and they were delicious as well. The only thing that didn't catch my fancy was my attempt at a salted lassi. No, just no. Stick with the mango or sweet.
題外話/補充資料:
If you like, try asking for items not listed on the menu - they are happy to oblige to any request.
