Tai On Building is a combination of residential building and hawker centre - remains my favourite place to look for food when I completely ran out of meal ideas. The stalls there stay open till past midnight, sometimes even till the wee hours of the morning.I found this Taiwanese eatery right next to the very famous Hainan chicken rice where there is always long line of foodies outside, so I went in to found what's new in the hub I ordered a chicken cutlet with crispy bun. I ordered a chicken cutlet with crispy bun. The bun was so crispy on the outside and very soft in the middle. The chicken cutlet was topped with a home made sweet sauce, giving it a surprisingly delicious savory sweet taste. The meat is so tender. Thumbs UP!
I have also tried out their signature Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice Bowl (THE most beloved Taiwanese comfort food) on my second visit with my Aunt. The rice bowl came with half braised egg and some veggi on the side. We were told the pork was braised for about 2 hours, whereas the sauce itself to cook the pork is more then 5 hours. You can tell the Chef must worked hard to deliver such tasty food.
My Aunt had ordered the Pork Cartilage Rice Bowl, which she spoke highly of. The Chef told us the preparing time of the Cartilage is no less then 8 hours.
Technically, this place is a tiny eatery with few standing space and very warm service! Thank you!
