Spending a quiet day off on the small island of Cheung Chau, I discovered this super sweet little cafe! Originally, I planned to eat at another cafe but when I arrived, it was closed! I guess they don't open on weekdays? A bit hungry, I wondered where I could eat and it seemed a number of places were not open weekdays! That was when I saw a sign pointing to a cafe announcing they served omelettes and waffles for $38.Good enough for hungry me! The cafe isn't hard to find and not very big. It has
Good enough for hungry me! The cafe isn't hard to find and not very big. It has outdoor seating. The cafe also sold the most beautiful fashion accessories (such as these beautiful purses!) that are created by the owner of the cafe.
Menu is in English and Chinese. They sold waffles, omelettes, sandwich and toasties sets ranging from $32 - 36 and all included a drink with an option for upgrades. There is no 10% service charge.
They also had various drinks.
I chose an omelette set and chose mushroom and cheese combination. This set also came with a slice of toast and drink. I chose an ice peach green tea. Now, this drink was sweet and had a strong peach taste. I noticed it was due toe the fact they seemed to soak fruit in jars to make a syrup. Thus, so much flavor!
The omelette was alright. It wasn't over cooked and it had a good amount of filling (though I think I could have loved a bit more cheese but I just love cheese). There were two slices of toast that were buttered and drizzled with condensed milk. Yum. A fairly good deal for $38!
Service was friendly and cheerful. Food was decent enough. Not great but at least it was done with care and not sadly slapped together. But the best was the wonderful shop attached to it. The handiwork from the owner is really something special. If I'm ever back on the island, I'll definitely be back!
