This was my umpteenth visit to this classy chic restaurant and this meal was to express my indebtedness. The menu was the same as the last visit but we were told to expect changes soon. The lemon grass soup was just as fragrant and strong - but I felt a bit let down as the visually spectacular vessel to serve it wasn't used. This was my umpteenth visit to this classy chic restaurant and this meal was to express my indebtedness. The menu was the same as the last visit but we were told to expect changes soon. 

The lemon grass soup was just as fragrant and strong - but I felt a bit let down as the visually spectacular vessel to serve it wasn't used. The foie gras was smooth and meltingly rich. The duck breast was tender and retained its characteristic flavour despite the slightly heavy gravy. The mashed potato (with lots of butter added) was soft and creamy as ever. The garnishes of branded cherries went well with the dish. The desserts did not disappoint; the earl grey mousse cake was like slightly firm custard in texture but would wobble in one's mouth and actually tasted of tea - which was hard as tea was easily overshadowed by other ingredients. The buckwheat crepe and the coffee was an all-time favourite and their standards did not dwindle. 

This happy meal amounted to $405 per head; in my opinion a bargain for such decor and food.
