The third day of Chinese New Year and we were hungry and tired. We decided to just sit down for some food and found Red Tea was open. We decided to give it a try as there was a number of people waiting to go in.Menu is English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge but as it was Chinese New Year, they were charging 20%! Boyfriend decided to get the lunch set which included either a Chinese or Western soup. This is the Deep Fried Fish with Cheese Sauce served with either pasta or rice ($60). We thought it'd be a baked version but it wasn't. It was a huge pile of very crunchy fish that was nicely cooked, pasta on the bottom and a strange cheese sauce in between. It was strange and didn't taste too good. The sauce was clumpy. But at least the fish was good.
The soup he chose was a borscht soup. It basically tasted like tomato soup with vegetables.
I had the daily set which was a macaroni soup with pan fried pork chop ($52). It looked very sad looking. The pork chop was ok and well seasoned. The pasta was soggy and the soup was way too salty.
It came with a slice of Danish toast and scrambled egg. The egg was overcooked and very dry. The toast was not too bad. Crispy and buttery.
Food wasn't too good though there were some that were ok. We most likely won't be back.
