Huge surprise that I immediately write up this review at this restaurant before leaving. Big thumbs up to their variety, service and quality. Menu serves both traditional and fusion coffee/ drinks, mains and desserts. Seeing waffles and mille-feuille, without a doubt we would go for these two. We asked for their black sesame waffle with black sesame sauce & ice cream. Was asking if possible to omit the whipped cream while staff thoughtfully reminded those were black sesame flavoured instead of normal ones. Would try to serve both sauce and cream aside for self serve. Loving the thoughtful initiatives. Waffles were absolutely amazing. Freshly made. Crispy and warm with a hint of sweetness. Black charcoal was just enough to make the waffle black and gave no extra flavour. Black sesame sauce was the star which gave a hint of black sesame nutty flavour. The extra crisps on plate gave extra crunch. Absolute loving it. The custard serving aside kind of unnecessary as the whole dish flavour was perfectly served.
Apple crumble mille- feuille with vanilla ice cream was definitely a huge wow. Very instagrammable. We started digging in after finishing the waffle, the puff pastry was still extremely crispy and flakey. It wasnt greasy at all! Custard could be a bit too much but understandable for the plating. Apple cubes were well coated with cinnamon and well cooked that just soft hut not mushed. Love the generous big scoop of vanilla ice cream that each bite could be added a touch of vanilla creamy flavour. Absolutely loving it.
Adding on with the coffee tonic, refreshing and brightening my palate. Unfortunately the bamboo charcoal black sesame latte was a bit let down. Not sure if it's related to less syrup, black sesame flavour was not as strong as expected. Tasted like a cup of cold milk instead.
Overall, big thumbs up and will definitely come back! Very enjoyable and chill cafe. Very impressive dessert indeed!
