As I've been to Coast for dinner one year. Dinner was ok. Not great but it was a nice relaxing type of place so I thought .. why not lunch?During lunch time, they have lunch sets. I chose the soup which was a cream of mushroom. It came with a piece of toasted focaccia. I love focaccia so this was really delicious. The soup was very hot and creamy. There was a lot of mushroom in the soup. Very happy they didn't drizzle truffle oil like most places do.
For my main, I chose the seafood stew ($118). It looked beautiful. There was shrimp, squid, mussels and clams. All in a rich tomato sauce and served with more toasted focaccia! It tasted great. The seafood was fresh. The sauce was rich. But here is the only thing that was wrong. It was cold. Seriously. Stone cold. Why was it cold? Was it a cold stew? I paid over $100 for this lunch so why was it cold? Isn't a stew supposed to be hot? Everything else was hot except for the stew. I didn't have time to change it as I had to get to work. But honestly ... why was it cold?
Would I come back? Was it a one time thing? Dinner was fine. Every one else around me seemed to have decent looking food. But then I saw a lot of people ate sandwiches. Maybe this was the item to avoid? May give it another chance.
