I felt it was more creamy than the usual kind (the worm-like chestnut cream on top of common chestnut cakes and tarts). Depending on personal taste, this creamier version may be good or bad. Personally, I liked its smoothness, but found it a bit too sweet and would prefer a more concentrated chestnut taste, rather than such a creamy one.
I feel that A1 bakery does have a quality guarantee, for both its cakes and bread products. The new sweet potato cake that I tried a month ago was also enjoyable, though again, a bit sweet.
