I went there yesterday (14/12/05) with my wife at 9pm. this is not a place for kids as nearly everyone was smoking. My wife did not like Leung Kee because she thought that the service was bad and the place was dirty. So we ended up waiting for nearly 1 hour before we can have a table to settle down. We ordered a small pot of 豬骨(HK$60). Again, though it is called small, it is rather big. It seems that its taste is better than Leung Kee. The pot is great.
We also ordered 四寶丸，馬介休丸，水發魷魚，鮮腐竹。四寶丸is disappointing. We expect home-made balls but we were given what looks like ready made balls from supermarket. lots of 粉。
馬介休丸is a special dish. I have never seen in hotpot in Hong Kong. It has a strong taste of salty fish but also has a slight smell of sour, not sure whether it was the smell of salty fish or what. Nothing special about the taste.
The rest of the food was also ordinary. Again, I ended up drinking a lot of cheap beer and finished the pot.
The dishes were cheap, mainly 15 or 20 per dish. I ended up paying HK$201 in total.
The service is average. Perhaps it was busy, we waited for a long time and have to ask someone to follow up our orders, including a can of soft drink. Compare with Leung Kee, the place is tidy and clean.
