We planned to go to Tai Kwun to walk around during this weekend and we decided to have an early lunch nearby before proceeding. Sonia Coffee was located at The Steps ‧ H Code, few minutes walk from Central MTR.The seating arrangement was not alot, enough for few tables. Desserts such as cake, pudding and mochi etc were displayed in the glass fridge near the counter.
They served pasta, sandwich, all day breakfast, cheese cake, hot cake, pudding, mochi and coffee etc.
Sea salt caramel latte - It was milky and smooth, with nice balance of savoury and sweetness. It has strong fragrant coffee aroma.
Japanese scallop pasta with wasabi soy sauce - This pasta was quite special as I seldom ate pasta with wasabi soy sauce. Pasta was chewy and fragrant, with strong wasabi taste. Scallop was chewy and smooth, with onion and okura in it.
Napolitan pasta was cooked with homemade tomato sauce and mixed with cheese powder, pasta was sweet and very appetizing. Sliced sausage was chewy and juicy, with onion and paprika in it.
Uji matcha azuki cheese cake - It was hard in texture and cheesy, with slight matcha taste and red bean was chewy and sweet in taste.
We ordered sonia specialty pudding and caramel late pudding. Pudding were very soft and smooth, sweet in taste, having strong caramel taste. Coffee pudding was one of the better ones I have tasted recently, with strong coffee taste.
