Never did I write how my openrice username came from, but that is what exactly I did with my bestie this weekend - wander to wonder. As the Chinese saying goes - "偷得浮生半日閒", we wandered towards the West from Central, strolling through PMQ and Wing Lee Street. On the way to the Medical Museum, the red canvas shelter drawn our curiosity. My bestie realized that it is the cafe opened by her unimate in UCLA. I heard of this cafe before, but I never know that it is in fact a portmanteau : Lof10 = L +
Lof10 tucked along the quiet upslope laneway with no traces of cars whizzing past. It seems to be an uncovered coffee spot.
I was amazed to see doggies inside! Seats (around 20) are scattered at different corners of the cafe - some are around big wooden tables and some are facing the wall on greyish metallic stools. There weren't swarms of customers flooding in, and that is how a real, relaxing cafe should be like. We co-own the space and ethos within, but with little disturbance to serenity.
As its name suggested, 辦館 means the kind of supermarket-like grocery store in the old days. Contrasting to modern coffee machines just around the corner, the folding metal gate is the best fit to 辦館 features of industrial leanings.
As the owners studied in UCLA, they brought back the loft style of West Coast - esp. the Los Angeles’ Handsome Coffee Roasters. I was pretty amazed to find that they brew their coffee with boxed water!
The menu is quite special to be infused with Korean and Chinese elements, like Korean cold noodle and Satay beef. Savory items range from $58 to $108, including all-day breakfast which is quite an essential item to fill up empty stomaches in cafes.
Several cakes are locked up in an antique-feel glass box, ranging from $58 to $68 each.
My bestie and I were not so hungry, what we wanted was just something light to cool us down. She ordered a Mocha ($58) and I ordered an ice cream sandwich ($68).
Food arrived in 5 minutes' time!

I had a sip of my bestie's Mocha. It tastes so-so, as I found it way too milky. The infinity symbol submerged in the two words on the mug is quite interesting though.
We stayed for around half an hour and set off for our walk. I met another puppie at the door and it was like smiling
What may make me a second visit must be the ambience of Lof10 - I felt like having a little retreat after taking a break with light snacks. Ultimately, food gives us (guilty) pleasure; if the vibes do it well too, why don't we give it a go too?
