Rarely will our family have lunch in Wan Chai, so when we came to a conclusion to decide to go to Wan Chai for a late lunch, my parents excitedly suggested Boston Restaurant. They haven't been here for a long time already and this restaurant had been famous during their time. And for me, I have always been eager to know about its signature Beef Brochette Flambe. I think it's because I picked onion gravy as my sauce so there were onions served along. I liked the onion. The texture was just right and it's seasoned with some black pepper to give rise to its flavor. However, it's not too special with the hamburg beef, and it's just small.

I didn't have any high expectations on their pastas. Of course you shouldn't dream of having your pasta cooked al dente. But apart from that, I'll have to say their bolongnaise was pretty good and flavorsome.

This was a bit of a disappointment. Again, don't expect al dente pasta, but even the sole fillets aren't really great.
All tea sets included a drink, but even with that, I think it's somehow still not worth it because their sizes were quite small indeed, especially for the sizzings. They look more like a kids' menu's sizzing instead of a dish of a normal serving size, even for tea sets.
Last but not least, the Beef Brochette Flambe ($107)

We had expected the flames, but I think the waiter still has the responsibility to remind customers about it, especially when there're kids around as my siblings were scared of the sudden flame burning on the table unexpectedly. I think they should tell the customers about the flames and let them be prepared before serving it. The dish was served with bread and soup. I didn't try the bread bun, but it looked okay, and it's very warm when served. For the soup we picked the borsch, and it's pretty good, not especially impressive though. As for the beef, the flame was bigger than I've expected when served. It burned pretty vigorously. It just caught me off guard. The beef was not bad, and its flavor was quite good actually with a hint of wine. In overall I enjoyed this dish despite the shock at the very start.
My concern was that, this restaurant had once been famous. It's like everybody knows about the restaurant and wishes to dine in here. However, I just see an ordinary restaurant now, wish a not so worth price for its food. I would accept the price of the Beef Brochette Flambe since it really was an interesting dish, but for the others, I don't think so. Something was just lost in this restaurant and was no longer the famous, legendary restaurant as it was in my parents' time.
