When there is line up outside the place with eager hungry customers deliberating on what to eat, this certainly is a good sign. We waited patiently in the rain and to be honest although the line was long, it didn't take long as there are many tables and quite a big space inside. For extra quick and efficient service, we were asked what clay pot rice we wanted, and how many. It usually takes about 15 minutes to make each one from scratch, which to Hong Kong people us a long long time. So we decid
The vegetables and drink came first. Flavour of veg sauce was excellent, usually a bit salty but this time seemed perfectly done (vegetables tasted like they were cooked in a broth before which made them extra tasty). Pineapple ice drink literally is tinned pineapple with syrup add soda and topped with sweetner or suger (super cooling off you're feeling the heat)
The clay pot rice came shortly along with the char sui rice rolls. Be careful as the clay pot is really hot. Open the lid and a puff of steamed rice and chicken smell enlightens your senses. The little dish of soya mixed with oil is poured over the rice and allowed to cook further while in the pot. The meat from the dish was average, chicken pieces wasn't as smooth as i have had before and the frogs legs seemed a little small and dry but the rice did taste wonderful and had the right amount of seasoning. The best dish had to be the char sui steamed rolls. Having ate a fair few of these I can assure you that this rice pastry is by far the thinnest of them all making it silky smooth and tasting delicious.
Definitely a place worthy of a visit and they're open till 4am too.
