The decor has a contemporary simplistic theme, with a bar at the back and a pizza kitchen where customers can see the activities and the oven inside. However, it is quite noisy, mainly coming from the ice rink.
We ordered two cocktails to start, followed by a Caesar Salad ($98), with Romaine lettuce, herbed croutons, crispy Parma ham and Parmesan. Generally speaking it is not too difficult to make this right, but the restaurant did not deliver well. First the croutons are simply too large. Not sure it is meant for the customers to break it apart themselves. But the bigger issue was the crispy ham. I found there was a slight rancid note which is not pleasant. It was a disappointing start.
Originally we planned to have the Chicken Mexicali Pizza but the staff advised that it would be very spicy, so we changed to the more traditional Hawaiian Pizza ($152). With tomato base, mozzarella, honey glazed ham and pineapple, again this should be fairly easy to please diners. While there is nothing wrong, I could only say it is mediocre at best. The only high point is that the crust is rather crispy.
We finished with another common dish, the Carbonara Linguine ($158), made with Pancetta, Parmesan, egg yolk and cream. The first impression I got was that it was very salty, not because of the bacon but more from the sauce and linguine themselves. The sauce is a bit too thick as well. Maybe I am too picky here...
Service overall was fairly good, with the staff courteous and friendly. I also like the way they voiced out the spiciness of the pizza proactively to alert us during ordering.The overall bill was $619, reasonably priced but considering the quality it was not too good for value. I believe their location really means business is sort of a given, and they might have overlooked the food quality. I hope the restaurant can review the issues and improve.
