What a hot and windless day, simply an ordinary weather in Hong Kong. But, for the sake of our tongues and stomachs, we have come here to enjoy a lunch back in 50s. 10 mins walk from Yau Me Tei MTR station, not far but we were sweating indeed!Full of nostalgia, isn't it? More than 300 choices, not including drinks, with English names provided (But not those on the wall). I think this is a necessary in this kind of traditional restaurant. Most foreign visitors like exploring the old Hong Kong through spending their time in these places. Since we have planned to eat less for more meals (I don't think we are really doing so!), we just ordered the signature "Baked pork chop with tomato sauce" and "Red bean ice".

Drink came first, a large glass with half red beans, half milk and little ice (Nowadays, barely to see using shaved ice, even here). Not too sweet, kind of balanced with sugar and evapourated milk. Maybe the most tastiest one I have ever had.

Traditional ceramic tile for the floor and the wall, classic style of armless chair, wooden booth seats and green blinds, all these absolutely reminded us the day in the past. During the time waiting for our "main course", we could only take a few pictures since a staff told us just shot near our own place. Alright, sad to hear but we understood not to disturb others. Maybe we looked like visitors, he talked to us in Mandarin though we used Cantonese to order LOL

Yeah, here was the "main course". Actually, we had waited for more than 15 mins but it was worth! The smell of tomato sauce rushed into my nose! I couldn't wait but had to, or else no photos for me! (Poor son)

Fried rice at the bottom (just eggs), the top was placed a thick pork chop. The pork chop was tender and juicy. Totally matched with the tomato sauce, you definitely wanted to eat more because it made you hungry! It was also that's smaller than my imagination. But it was really rich in taste.

For people who want to taste the old Hong Kong, this is a nice place for you to go, with views of a park and not too many skyscrapers nearby. No air-conditioner but you can feel the breeze! Thanks for the photos from Mohkc.
