It was sunny so we decided to explore Kennedy Town. But first food! It seemed every restaurant was packed. Finally, after walking and walking and walking, we found a place with seats available!五斗米 (English name: South Taiwan Comfort) serves up ... yes, Taiwanese food. A small restaurant, the menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 1-% service charge. They offer sets and a la carte. You check off what you want directly on the menu. Sets come with a drink. You check off what you want directly on the menu. Sets come with a drink. We decided to share three afternoon tea sets.
Meat Pie Set ($34) was interesting. A small little crispy pie stuffed with lots and lots of chives. It also felt like a mouthful of oil but it was the best of what we ordered.
Braised Pot Platter Set ($34) as not good at all. Lacked any flavor. It didn't really come with an egg. I guess not for afternoon tea. The only standouts was the braised balls of pork and beef.
Stew Pork Rice Set ($34) was ok The pork mince was savory but it also was small. At first we felt it was small due to we ordered from the afternoon tea area but someone ordered a regular portion and it was the same size.
The food was pretty average. Nothing to really rave about. Not great but not bad. Wouldn't really be back.
