Christmas break and a eight of our friends decided we haven't seen each other in a group setting in two years!  And thus, we trekked out to Tuen Mun for seafood.There are many seafood reastaurants in this area of Tuen Mun but we chose 南記海鮮飯店 (English name: Nam Kee Restaurant) as a few of my friends who lived in this area have been there several times before. Christmas break and a eight of our friends decided we haven't seen each other in a group setting in two years!  And thus, we trekked out to Tuen Mun for seafood.


There are many seafood reastaurants in this area of Tuen Mun but we chose 南記海鮮飯店 (English name: Nam Kee Restaurant) as a few of my friends who lived in this area have been there several times before. We picked our seafood from one of the many fresh seafood stands nearby and the restaurant cooked it for us in the way the seafood seller recommended.

And so the meal began with roast goose. Which was HUGE even though we only ordered half. Apparently, my friends said this was their favorite item and I can agree. The meat was juicy and well seasoned. The skin was thin and super crisp.

The next item was lobster that was deep fried with a coating of cheese. A suggestion on how to cook it by the seafood seller. It was a good suggestion and possibly my favorite of the entire night. The meat was perfectly cooked. The topping was crunchy and cheesy. Like you are eating cheese chips. Definitely never seen this served any where else.

Stir Fried Fish Head was good. There was a lot of collagen in every bit of bone. Everything was super savory. This is wok hei.

Steamed Razer Back Clams with Vermicelli and Garlic and Spring Onions was simple yet the only way to eat this type of seafood. The clams were sweet. The vermicelli could have been soaked in more of the flavor though.

Steamed Mantis Shrimp were very sweet and simple. Meat was just cooked well.

Seafood Soup came as part of the meal when you order. The soup was delicious. Very sweet from all the seafood that you see before you. They had a lot of items: tofu, bok choy, clams, fish meat, mantis shrimp.

Cockles in Spicy Sichuan Wine Sauce was too spicy for me but boyfriend didn't like it much. He felt the wine was too strong and was a bit too bitter.

Salty Egg Yolk Deep Fried Prawn was delicious. They were fried so well, you could eat the shells like chips.

Steamed Abalone with Mandarin Peel was simple and to  the point. Not over cooked at all.

The food came out very fast and all the seafood was cooked well. None were over cooked. Everything went well with several rounds of beer. A good way to celebrate the holiday season with friends.
