Winter Solstice and as this year we can have more than 2 people per table, the three of us decided to go out for dinner as it is a time for family. We decided to go to 點心到·大排檔 (English name: Dim Sum Here Mix Seafood) as we hd eaten at the Jordan branch several times for dim sum but noticed that the Mong Kok branch did Cantonese dishes only at night. The place is quite big. Bigger than the Jordan branch. It also filled up very fast so it's a good thing we arrived a bit early. I guess many people were finding places to eat this Winter Solstice.

Menu is in English, Japanese and Chinese. However, the house specials and a combo deal was in Chinese only. There is no 10% service charge but they do have a tea charge. They have a lot of dishes to choose from including classic well known ones along with some they created themselves.

Okra and Wild Mushrooms Tofu ($78) was something I haven't come across. It apparently was a dish they created and was really quite good. Possibly our favorite of the evening. The tofu was crispy on the outside and smooth and soft on the inside. The sauce was savory and there was some sliced okra and wild mushrooms on top.

Biting into it, the tofu was in two colors: green and the usual white making it a very colorful dish.

We ordered a plate of vegetables of your choice. You can have them in shrimp paste or garlic. We decided on Stir Fried Morning Glory in Shrimp Paste ($66) as I believe it's in season. Bright green color, there was enough shrimp paste to give that bump of umami to one of my favorite vegetables.

Sweet and Sour Chicken in Pot ($88)  was pretty spicy. Spicier than expected. But very fragrant and came in hot bubbling pot. The chicken was juicy and tender.

Like their dim sum, their Cantonese dishes are just as good. Prices were very fair as well as the three of us only paid a reasonable amount of money. Food comes out very quickly. So, we'll probably be back.
