McDonald's continues it's reinvention by making itself more and more fancy. First they did Create a Burger. Now they have McDonald's Next. Located in Admiralty, this McDonald's is a bit different. It not only has Create a Burger service, but you can also create your own salad. You order by using a touch screen monitor and food is brought to your table by a McDonald's employee.At their McCafe section, you can order waffles. And that's what I did. At their McCafe section, you can order waffles. And that's what I did. They have a mixed berry waffle and a matcha ice cream and azuki bean waffle. Cost: $25 with a cup of medium size coffee.
I ordered the matcha ice cream and azuki bean waffle. The waffle was made to order and the ice cream and azuki bean sauce was added when you come to pick up your coffee. The matcha ice cream was ok and tasted like green tea candy. Texture was their usual soft serve texture. The azuki beans were not too bad. Semi sweet and soft enough. The waffle, on the other hand, was so sweet. It seemed to be coated in sugar crystals because when I bit into it, I actually bit into undissolved sugar chunks. The waffle was just way too sweet.
I ordered a latte. It was a bit too milky.
I noticed they had coffee beans for sale. I wonder why .. do they use the same beans here at McCafe?
Another thing about this McDonald's is that they have wireless charging stations for your laptop or mobile device. However, I couldn't figure out how to use it. I wonder if it's due to the fact my phone is incompatible?? I don't know? Does anyone know? I saw no one using the charging devices and some that tried, gave up. There seemed to be no instructions anywhere.
