I by-passed this restaurant during my shopping trip at Fa Yuen Street. What attracted me the most was the emptiness of the restaurant during the busy lunch time. Only a few customers were in the restaurant so I was seated immediately after I entered the restaurant. I’ve never heard of this restaurant before, but it claims to have over 300 stores around the world. The menu was filled with deep-fried pork cutlets and it took me some time to choose my lunch (as they all looked similar). The menu was filled with deep-fried pork cutlets and it took me some time to choose my lunch (as they all looked similar). In the end, I chose a deep-fried shrimps, pork fillet, and minced pork bowl ($69). I also ordered a glass of citrus flavor with lemon drink ($9).
I waited for around 15 minutes for my rice, assuming that the shrimps and the pork were deep-fried after my order. When the rice finally came, the portion was bigger than expected. The deep-fried shrimps and pork covered most of the rice. Both the shrimps and the pork were deep-fried well, with only a thin layer of flour and bread crumbs, making a crispy coating.
The rice had only a little soy sauce, with a runny scrambled egg on top. The amount of soy sauce given was not enough for the whole bowl of rice and luckily, pork cutlet sauce was provided on the table. Also, the whole bowl of rice was only warm and I’m sure it would taste better if it was hotter. As for the drink, it was almost tasteless and would only recommend it if you’re very thirsty.
