One of the simplest way of organizing a gathering is to have a cafe party. Causeway Bay's one of the best and most convenient places to go for a gathering. With so many options of cafes, our organizers picked this cafe as our party venue.
At first I expected there would be big signs leading the directions to the cafe, but there weren't. Honestly I think it would be pretty hard to find the cafe if there isn't somebody in the group who knows the place.
When we first arrived the cafe, my impression was that it was indeed quite a comfortable and cozy place. There's a large table around the long sofas and seats, a bar table with some bar seats, television, computer, Wii, and a cupboard full of games provided.
We were first told we each get to have two glasses of drinks for the night and the drinks menu was being passed to us, then we were asked about the time for serving the food.
After these things were settled, we started finding things to play and chill. The food were served very soon.
There were mushroom penne in cream sauce, spring rolls, chicken wings, meat balls, fried rice, samosa, etc.
The food were so so, some were not really okay. Among the all, I think I liked the meat balls the most.
The drinks from this place weren't good either. I think they were a bit of a disaster honestly.
Lastly for desserts, it was chocolate cake. It was bad. At first I thought it was merely the chocolate not being strong enough, but it makes it light dessert then. However, I later found the cake even salty, and that had totally ruined my appetite for it.
For the food, I honestly was not satisfied with it, but if your party focuses more on the fun part and the standard of food don't really matter a lot, I think the place would still be okay since their entertainment provided are okay and the place is comfortable enough I guess.
Do I recommend the place? Frankly, no. It won't be any of my top choices for a cafe party if I have to organize one. But if your group of people merely wants to chill and play around, I guess the place would be okay, and more importantly it's not pricey.
