I've been here at least 4 times this year (usually suggested by friends and also its easier to park) and have never experienced good service.Booked for noon (when they open) but table wasn't ready.The Matre'D is very attractive and very rude and stuck up. Not that locals would be too keen to come, because the food is very average, borderline weird tasting.

Their dishes are a lame attempt for west meets east with some new vibes.

During different visits here I've tried pork neck (meat is tough and not flavourful); fish taco (dry and tasteless); chicken wing (some of the worst I've tasted in HK); charred whole sea bream (it was ok, but considering cost 360+ it HAD to be not bad); and almost half the dishes on the menu, which isn't worth remembering.

If you are attracted by the vibe and decor - which is admittedly one of the nicest along the strip of restaurants in The Pulse, I can understand why you would want to visit.

Just have VERY low expectations for the food AND service, then you will likely have a good time. Low expectatsions - > better experience here.

I really appreciate the way they used coconut water to marinate the chunky salmon tartare as well as the fried garlic bites which adds a crunchy texture, whereas the tuna tartare is also deliciously created by yuzu aioli in layers of fatty tuna chunks and avocado mash at the bottom.

Limewood’s guacamole is topped with unusual complements such as crispy pork skin, sea urchin and salmon roe, which pairs perfectly with corn tortilla chips that one could hardly stop nibbling on.

The Huli Huli Chicken is told to be the must-have on the new menu, and truly it is one of the table’s favourites while the sea urchin tostada is also the beautiful highlight that satisfy both our cameras and tummies. We also tried crab salad and glazed thick bacon too.

Finally, my favourite part goes to the house made kid’s size churros, with salted caramel and homemade coconut ice cream. It is just heaven on earth!

Limewood have a great spot on the beach, and full of pretty people on a weekend. But it seems they are booking a table for beach vibe, not the food. Some interesting things on the menu, but it's lazy and soulless preparation. Sweetcorn that is shriveled and tasteless, smothered with cloyingly sweet coconut. Fish deep fried saturated in salt. Cocktails ruined by bitter unripened limes. We didn't have a single dish in our group that actually hit the mark.If you're ok to burn $500 on a mediocre lun

The service was frankly quite poor and the dishes were all dented or half broken, when the restaurant is supposed to be relatively new. The attendants, mostly south-east Asian, were rude and unhelpful. Environment was decent but we were sitting by the window side and our view was three recycled bins whem the restaurant was empty. 

The scallop tartare was quite fresh, but the honey felt too heavy and overall made the scallop tartare too sweet. 

The corn cob was nice, but again on the sweet side and frankly, too heavy. It was coated in syrup and the shredded coconut gave it a nice kick but I felt like I had enough food for the day after half a cob. 

The fish was really disappointing for the price. It was quite a big portion (a whole fish). Flavour was just right, and the seasoning well-balanced, but the texture of the fish was not as we expected. It was rough and made it obvious that the fish wasn't a fresh catch. For $300-400 we expected better quality.

Most likely will not return.

SPICY YELLOW FIN TUNA CEVICHE $130 w/ cucumber relish, yuzu aioli. This was terrific. The mix between the cucumber relish, yuzu aioli sauce mixed with the fresh tuna ceviche was great. There’s a soft spice to it! Love the light spicy-ness and creaminess of this dish.

Today the weather is real nice.  Me and a bunch of friends decided to drive down to Repulse Bay and chilled with the kids just to celebrate our last day of holiday.  Thanks to my dear frds who came early to queue so we grabbed the best spot with the sofa and small corner and a big window! I am not a coffee drinker so I ordered a cup of hot chocolate. Today the weather is real nice.  Me and a bunch of friends decided to drive down to Repulse Bay and chilled with the kids just to celebrate our last day of holiday.  

Thanks to my dear frds who came early to queue so we grabbed the best spot with the sofa and small corner and a big window! 

I am not a coffee drinker so I ordered a cup of hot chocolate. It came but instead of giving me chocolate topping I got chilly powder. I thought it is new style of making hot chocolate but it was not. So I needed to get it changed of course. Food wise it is not bad.  The one i like most is the calamari as the source is very atypical. And i also liked the chicken salad too. 

This place is kid friendly and pet friendly.  But just don't be too fussy about the cleanliness as there is sand on sofa but as a whole the staff try hard to be attentive and the food came real fast.

The menu was short and simple with four main sections - Cold and Hot appetizers, Meats and Whole Fish. J and I got one from each section to share between the two of us.

Pomegranate & Watermelon Margarita ($120) - I started my meal with their specialty - margaritas! The price was a bit steep but the tequila was quite strong so at least you are getting your money's worth. I couldn't taste the pomegranate in the cocktail though but I did like the jalapeno in it which spiced things up a bit. The dehydrated pomegranates salt rim was also a nice touch as I thought they were dried rose petals at first. [3.5/5]

Vietnamese Crab Salad ($125) - served with creamed coconut corn, shishito peppers, and toasted nuts. The crab was quite average to be honest as it tasted like a crab dip you can get at Costco instead of fresh crab meat but the Yuzu sauce turned this otherwise ordinary dish into something special. Topped with a sweet chilli glaze and green papaya & radish salad tossed with yuzu vinaigrette, the fish was cooked perfectly with a soft flaky flesh. Again I just loved the charred fish skin with the chili glaze on it! [4/5]

Verdict - prices were on a bit on the high side as our meal ending up costing $500 per person but I do think that Limewood has something unique to offer - a beach-side dining experience with a twist of barbecue cuisines from around the world!
