We love 11 Westside and the attached secret bar (The Wiltshire) and go regularly as we live in the same building. However, we feel as if we’ve been extremely let down. We love 11 Westside and the attached secret bar (The Wiltshire) and go regularly as we live in the same building. However, we feel as if we’ve been extremely let down. My husband recently had surgery and is on crutches. To get up to 11 Westside you usually have to go up around 30 stairs - which he would be unable to do. However we had asked previously and they had said that the Building lift (which is usually not used) would be available if needed. I went down to speak to them about this and check if the lift would be available in this instance, particularly as we live in the building, as this would have meant my husband could have got in the lift outside our flat and arrive directly at the restaurant. However, they were unwilling to help - saying that they would have to disturb other diners In order to help us through. Whilst my husband is only temporarily disabled, this appalling attitude really annoyed us and made us feel sorry for anyone who actually is disabled and would like to go there. Rather than help us go up in the lift and maybe disturb 2 diners for 2 minutes they were happy to turn away our business. Really disgusting. We love the food but after tonight will think about whether or not we go again. Shocking realisation of how difficult life must be for non-able bodied customers in Hong Kong and (potentially) illegal. Come on Westside, you can do better.

Best taco in townCame here for Taco Tuesday – half price for all tacos except for 1. We loved all the tacos we ordered - my personal favourite was the fish taco (Baja Fish), steak taco (Carne Asada) and chicken taco (Pollo Asado). Fish taco was slightly deep fried coated with yummy batter. Steak taco was perfectly prepared with juiciness well kept in the steak. Came here for Taco Tuesday – half price for all tacos except for 1. We loved all the tacos we ordered - my personal favourite was the fish taco (Baja Fish), steak taco (Carne Asada) and chicken taco (Pollo Asado). Fish taco was slightly deep fried coated with yummy batter. Steak taco was perfectly prepared with juiciness well kept in the steak. Chicken taco was beautifully seasoned.

Other than tacos, its Kale salad was a killer! Crispy and flavoursome. We also ordered cheese fondue with chips (Queso Fundido). It was a good started for sharing.

Drinks are overpriced, and guacamole is weirdly expensive, but order a couple of Al Pastors and you’ll see what the fuss is all about.

Full disclaimer – this is a review only for their tacos – we went on Taco Tuesday and had only guacamole and tacos, so have no idea what the rest of the menu is like. I was considering waiting until we go and try the full menu on a normal day, but that could actually be never, so I went ahead with this.

This is a simple review – if you like tacos (and who doesn’t), Taco Tuesday at 11 Westside is worth the hype and hassle. We booked almost a week in advance and still could only get a 9 pm slot. Fortunately, they have a badass speakeasy (Wilshire’s) attached to it where you can kill some time. 

11 Westside, if you’re not familiar, is LA’s “The Taco King” Esdras Ochoa’s first HK restaurant, and it’s supposed to, at last, bring authentic Mexican food to Hong Kong. While the setting is painfully hip, with mood lighting, faux-chandeliers, and graffiti on the walls, I guess it works for the NEW KENNEDY TOWN. There’s a beautiful full bar for cocktails, and a giant drinks list. The drinks are overpriced – every beer but one (a Mexican lager) is 80+, and every other drink (wine, cocktails, etc) begins at 100$. I know Ktown is the place these days, but these are basically LKF/Soho prices, much further away. As a side story that you hopefully won’t encounter, it was Negroni week, and after a good one at Wilshire’s (the attached speakeasy), my friend ordered one at dinner. Without being warned by staff, it turned out to be a bizarre over-sweetened strawberry popsicle with no detectable Negroni flavor, which they told us over and over was indeed a Negroni, specially prepared for this week. We didn’t insist they take it back, but we probably should have.

The fresh made-at-table-side-completely-by-the-book guacamole hits all the right notes, and the accompanying homemade tortilla chips were great. At HKD 150 it’s steep (2 avocados, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lime, and jalapenos are what… $40?), but come on, they’ve gotta pay for those chandeliers somehow! You guys decide if dictionary-definition guacamole is worth that price, but delicious is delicious.

N.B. I don’t eat much Mexican food here because it’s often terrible, so take this for what you will. But, if you like ingredient-packed, flavor-filled American-style tacos, these are the best in HK. I like the simplicity of Sheung Wan’s TQM’s tacos, but these scratch a different itch. The tortillas are also wonderful, freshly made and lightly toasted. They are however not water-resistant, so eat them with a bit of urgency as they will get soggy – a real threat when you order 20 at a time. Also, there is avocado and/or guacamole on every taco – I don’t know many people who consider that a bad thing, but just FYI. Also, amazing that they offer all 8 of their tacos on Taco Tuesday - a lot of places cut down their selection for expedience. Terrific variety on display here.

The best taco they serve – the pork itself is the standout - deliciously roasted with incredible depth of flavour. The smokiness of the meat and the sweetness of the pineapple comes together deliciously with the salsa and guacamole.

Pollo Asado - delicious and juicy, but with a lot of flavours at battle between the sweet citrus/garlic of the chicken and all the condiments. Still worth a try.

Carnitas - I never understand these, the shredded pork has never not been dry or bland. There’s more fat here than usual so it’s juicier, but still the weakest tacos on offer. I think you can pass on these.

Was the last non-beef taco on the menu so I had to try it – surprisingly good. Cauliflower was just a tad mushy, but a wonderful adobo/chili sauce coats it, and a layer of jack cheese over the tortilla gives it some needed richness and bite. Not sure I’d order it at the expense of the others, but excellent for vegetarians. Better than it looks

I didn't try the Carne Asada, but half the table said it was the best taco of the night, so if you eat beef you should definitely give those a try as well.

Overall, these are great tacos: fresh ingredients combined with complex flavors from the variously prepared meats and salsas/chilis.  If this was just a rating for Taco Tuesday (which I guess it is), I’d give a strong recommend to 11 Westside. At full price though, I’m not sure each taco is worth 50 hkd. I ate 6 of them and could easily have had 2 more. Was this meal worth 300-400 without drinks? That said, they have many other dishes for HKD 100-200 we didn’t get to try, so in a normal meal here, tacos would probably just be another side dish. 

These uber-hip HK openings are exhausting, with the food usually taking a back seat to all the hype, but the tacos at 11 Westside are no joke. While they aren't "authentic" Mexican tacos, (they're way too packed with stuff, and the flavors are a bit over the top), but they are undoubtedly delicious, and you can feel the effort put into the production of each one, from the meat to the tortillas. As such, even with its silly drink list prices and hours-long waiting list, Taco Tuesday at 11 Westside is absolutely worth your effort.

After watching the Netflix’s final table, I want to try the Mexican foods from 11 westside owned by Taco king chef Esdras Ochoa. The foods are amazing, service and location are absolutely great. Will come back again to try other foods on menu.

五月三十號中午,天陰。五月總跟主管的長假期叉開來,今天終於可以一起來個休閒午餐。這家餐廳隱藏於爹核士街樓上,是真正的隱藏,因為根本不知道入口在哪裡,我們懷著探秘的心情從Eric Kayser旁轉個彎,走上一條樓梯,終於找到。原來老闆Esdras Ochoa 是 Final Table的Taco King,在香港開了一家主打正宗墨西哥捲餅的餐廳,食材全部從洛杉磯和墨西哥空運到港,質素有保證,我們都非常期待地點菜。作為愛酒之人,我們點了一瓶Château de Fleurie Beaujolais,色澤紅潤,充滿深色花朵及泥土香氣,果香豐厚,跟今天的菜很配。前菜是Ceviche Gonzaga Bay 檸檬汁醃生魚肉,源自秘魯,為南美洲各個國家都有的菜品,只是作法不同。依靠青檸或檸檬汁的強烈酸度醃熟魚肉,加入洋蔥、辣椒與香草等調味料增添風味,為魚肉殺菌消毒之餘,也除腥提鮮,非常醒胃。我們各自選了$98的 3 Tacaos Platter,可以每人自選三款Tacos,價錢相宜且賣相精緻。先從左邊開始吃,Baja Fish 炸巴哈魚玉米卷發源於墨西哥的Ensenada 港,魚是以啤酒麵糊鮮炸的

while pricy the tacos at 11 westside are simply the best in Hong Kong. it is no wonder why when the Los Angeles chef who opened the place is an award winning taco chef!best to come.on a Tuesday as it is half price taco night, otherwise it will be a bit pricy for some.whatever you do, don't go inside the mysterious back room!

The use of ingredients in the tacos were well matched and the dessert we tried was the Churros, which was AMAZINGLY good I wouldn’t want it any other ways! One point to note that the place is a bit hidden, once you get to Davis street, locate Eric Kayser, and once you get to the end of that alley, you’ll find a long staircase which leads to the res

吃墨西哥菜,又怎可以錯過Tacos?這兒的Taco款色眾多,包括了牛,雞,豬,魚,蝦,炸椰菜花等。當中,以Mango and Shrimp Taco最得我歡心。此款Taco除了有爽彈的大蝦仁及香甜的芒果,更有Pico de Gallo作為醬汁。無疑,芒果和蝦仁的味道平淡,但基於墨西哥辣椒就是Pico de Gallo的靈魂,因此,整件Taco頓時變得惹味,辣得刺激了。

主食,也來了一份USDA Hanger Steak。不愧為橫隔膜腹肉,外表紋理分明,脂肪不多。它是較有嚼勁的肉,質地緊緻卻軟嫩,肉味亦極為濃郁。當慢慢咀嚼時,其肉汁是不斷地滲出來的。

先講第一款Carne Asada牛扒taco,細細個taco裝滿曬燒過嘅牛扒條,醬汁辣辣哋好惹味,係全晚最高評分嘅taco!⠀

之後兩款Al Pastor同Baja Fish分別係豬肉同炸魚嚟,豬肉加入咗菠蘿所以味道帶甜,但係就會辣少少;而炸魚都幾脆,味道溫和少少,整體都好食嘅!⠀

另外我哋亦都叫咗一個Carne Asada Fries,份量絕對足夠4個人share,叫埋啤酒就perfect曬啦!⠀

Being a massive fan of mexican food and having recently watched the Final table once I saw that Esdras had a mexican joint opened in HK I knew I had to go.The decor of the restaurant was dark and didnt really suit the style of food in my opinion - almost trying to look very high class.We ordered the salsa and guacamole chips. The salsa was fantastic with a great depth of flavour. The guacamole was made fresh by the table which made for a good experience.The tacos were superb, the tacos themselv

We ordered the salsa and guacamole chips. The salsa was fantastic with a great depth of flavour. The guacamole was made fresh by the table which made for a good experience.

The tacos were superb, the tacos themselves had a great corn flavour to them and tasted freshly rolled out. The fillings were good, although almost too spicy.

We ordered the churros which were titled churros 3 ways - however when they arrived they didn’t seem to be cooked 3 ways and the popcorn that came with them didn’t add anything to the dish and perhaps tasted almost a bit stale.

先前經朋友介紹,已經黎過呢間餐廳食過一次晚飯,記得啲食物係唔錯,但餐廳將燈光調到好昏暗,連食物都差啲睇唔清,所以就無影到相。今次係一個APP度見到間餐廳EARLY DINNER 時段有優惠,就約多次朋友黎呢度食。餐廳一邊係一大幅玻璃窗,樓底好高,空間好寬敞。因為係early dinner,去到餐廳果陣都仲有陽光,陽光照到去對面的一幅擺滿各式各樣酒瓶的牆,同上一次到訪嘅感覺完全唔一樣,今人覺得好舒適同放鬆。叫左同上次差唔多嘅食物,叫左個Nachos,職員係係你面前即場搗爛個牛油果同問埋你地會想落點樣的調味,拌左青檸汁同洋蔥的牛油果醬醬的Nachos好清新,唔覺唔覺就食左好多。另外仲叫左個薯條,上面有sour cream同肉醬,調味亦都好惹味,微辣,好夾D 熱辣辣的薯條。仲有牛扒,好Juicy,有少少咬口,都幾濃牛味,只點少少鹽食已經好夠味,下面仲有烤左嘅小椰菜沾到D牛肉汁,令本身帶少許苦澀味的小椰菜多一分肉味。仲叫左枝ROSE,好適合係呢個環境飲。心有千千結,何以解憂,唯有杜康。同朋友飲飲酒,訴訴各人心事,人飲到微醺,肚內鬱結吐盡,騰出的空間都裝滿美食了。

叫左同上次差唔多嘅食物,叫左個Nachos,職員係係你面前即場搗爛個牛油果同問埋你地會想落點樣的調味,拌左青檸汁同洋蔥的牛油果醬醬的Nachos好清新,唔覺唔覺就食左好多。

另外仲叫左個薯條,上面有sour cream同肉醬,調味亦都好惹味,微辣,好夾D 熱辣辣的薯條。

仲有牛扒,好Juicy,有少少咬口,都幾濃牛味,只點少少鹽食已經好夠味,下面仲有烤左嘅小椰菜沾到D牛肉汁,令本身帶少許苦澀味的小椰菜多一分肉味。
