We went to De Viet early on a Saturday night and were pleasantly surprised by the fact that the patron of the restaurant was there and served us personally. He spoke excellent English and was passionate about the food he was serving. The decor and atmosphere was also nice and we felt at home straight away. We ordered the French prawn toast with cheese, vegetable vermicelli rolls, Spicy chicken wings and pork neck banh hoi. The prawn toast was pretty nice. It was definitely a one of a kind and worked well, as it reminded us of a grilled ham and cheese.The vegetable rolls were also passable and tasted fresh - they disintegrated on the first bite, so you had to gobble them down whole.So far, so good.The second pair of plates was not quite as good as the first.The wings were completely hidden by a very dense batter. The flavours worked, but the chicken itself was destroyed by the thick coating.The last dish was not very good at all. We have eaten banh hoi in Hue, the city in Vietnam they come from, and these were not the same. The ricecakes were soggy and had an odd texture. 朋友睇食評,見環境幾靚,所以黎左,星期五夜晚,都坐唔滿一半,可能地點太僻了。服務好好,啲菜遂碟上,可能因為太少人易控制。一開始有蝦片,好脆好味。叫左蜜糖凍蕃茄,可以揀前菜上或甜品上,我地揀前菜,不過佢話整唔切,變甜品上。我最愛嘅蝦餅呀,夠彈牙,炸得剛好,配上花生粒唔錯,幾有口感。酸辣雞搥,辣叫左適中,我覺得可以再辣啲,不過隻醬好好食,夠開胃。芝士茄子,朋友嗰條走左芝士,略硬,我個人喜歡較軟身,不過芝士可以再多一點,唔算突出,不過點解款款都加花生粒。火車頭,個蕃茄湯好濃好正呀,牛肉都唔un,牛丸好有牛味。凍蕃茄非常fresh,but個蜜糖汁可以再多啲。食完有coupon留返下次用,幾抵。呢度食物好環境好服務好,有機會一定會再黎。…Read More

在附近找吃的,諾士佛臺食肆有䇄立不倒的,亦有店舖轉手數次,走進橫街,竟然亦有酒吧餐廳,相信適合駕車人士,可直接停在門口。越滿居門面吸收,白色牆身,且有戶外座位,甚有法越風味,於是決定一試。中午近二時,店內半滿,天氣不太熱,就坐在室外座位,選了招牌胡志明紅番茄豬頸肉檬。湯底鮮紅觸目,濃郁茄香,味甜酸不寡,亦伴有紅辣椒,蔥花及生菜,開胃清新;意料之外是豬頸肉片,厚切肉豐外,邊位香酥肉脆,估計先炸過後蓋在粉上,雖然被湯水浸了片刻,依照保持香脆口感,值得讚揚;檬粉越式對辦,這頓午餐,以味道來評,非常好味,值得重臨。招牌菜式有個原只軟殼蟹及冰凍番茄,看似吸引,考慮下次品嚐。可惜服務態度茶餐廳式,侍應粗聲粗氣不理采,真是可惜,浪費了廚子的手藝,累失分!…Read More
