Haven’t been to La Vache for years, the decor of the restaurant hasn’t changed and the service is great despite some previous comments of poor service. Menu is simple $398 set menu consisting of salad, steak and fries. We order 3 x sets where we asked for the ribeye steaks to be cooked 1 x medium rare and the other 2 medium. We order 3 x sets where we asked for the ribeye steaks to be cooked 1 x medium rare and the other 2 medium. What we actually got was one rare and 2 x medium rare. The kitchen doesn’t know how to cook a steak to order which is disappointing but not surprising as my motto for steak when eating out is to go really cheap like 花園餐廳 or high end expensive e.g. Grand Hyatt Steak House, but never medium priced restaurants as the kitchen generally can’t cook steaks to order.
Despite this, the ribeye steak was ok as it was tender, but it had no beef taste (as it’s frozen steak). The salad had lots of walnuts and was tasty, the fries were too salty for me and they did come around asking if you wanted refills. But honestly the best thing were the bread rolls baguettes served at the beginning. Could eat desserts as we were full.
