We planned to go to Mongkok for some shopping during this weekend and during lunch time, we went to 四寶食堂 for lunch. It was located at Soy Street, few minutes walk from Mong Kok MTR.Their menu was very comprehensive, offering a wide range of dishes that typical cha chan teng served. Passion fruit lemon soda - It was gassy and refreshing, sweet in taste and with strong lemon taste.
Blackcurrant lemon soda was refreshing and sweet, with strong blackcurrant taste. Iced milk tea with red bean was smooth and milky, with red bean chewy and sweet in taste.
Polo bun was toasted till soft and crispy, with the butter making it buttery and flavourful.
Scrambled egg with minced beef sandwich - The toast was bigger in size than those typical cha chan teng we ate, toasted till soft and crispy. Scrambled egg was soft, with the minced beef making it flavourful and tasty.
Rice with pratunam chicken - This was the Thai version of chicken rice, with soy sauce added on top of the rice. Rice was chewy and fragrant, with the chicken steamed till juicy and smooth, one of the better ones I tasted recently.
Winter melon soup came with the chicken rice, which was clear and winter melon was soft and juicy.
Grilled American premium hanging steak - We request for 50% done, thus there was still redness on the meat. Steak was huge in size, cut into slices. It was tender and juicy, with vinegar sauce provided to enhance the taste.
Truffle sea salt fries came with the steak, which was fried till soft and crispy, slightly salty in taste and flavourful.
Belgian chocolate mille cake - I was surprised they offered mille cake. It was surprisingly good, smooth and creamy, with strong chocolate flavour.
