Apparently, the shop also offers delivery service to cater for the needs of the busy professionals working around the area.
My order: “Futo Maki” (太卷) and a beautifully decorated stylish “Summer Deluxe Box – Nishiki” (夏の御膳‧錦) with a complimentary dessert of the day.
Summer Deluxe Box – Nishiki ($228)The traditional Japanese bento box looks really delicate and attractive, and tastes excellent at the same time. The two layers of high-quality and healthy ingredients, mostly fresh seafood, truly justify the deluxe price tag.
According to the website of the shop, all bento ingredients are low in sodium and saturated fats. Medium to low temperature cooking method is also applied so as to maintain the highest amount of nutrition in the food.
For the upper layer, we got appetizing Smoked Duck Breast, salt-grilled Saury, sweety Tamagoyaki, fresh with moist and flaky texture Salmon, together with several kinds of seafood like Shrimp, Squid, fine Scallop and a Selected Dessert.
As for the lower layer, apart from the chewy, firm and springy Abalone, there are incredibly crunchy Lotus Root, traditional Tsukemono (preserved pickles), shredded Egg and orange bright-look Tobiko sprinkled on top of the sweet & sticky Pearl Rice.
Futo Maki ($25)Move on to the Futomaki, though the appearance looks much like California Roll, it’s really simple, delicious and pleasing to the eye. A colourful sushi choice that can never go wrong.
As for the fillings, each sushi roll consists of cucumber strips, tamagoyaki omelette, ebi, crab stick and sushi rice wrapped in dried roasted seaweed.
The translucent complimentary Yuzu Jelly dessert is also amazingly good, tastes like a pudding but wonderfully bouncy, natural and cooling. Besides, its lovely citrus fragrance and the sweetness is just right to my liking.
There are many more bento choices on the menu. Fancy some more sushi and authentic Japanese dishes? From the quality to visual presentation of the ingredients, one can really feel the attention to detail that creates the perfect bento experience.
