Hello and I guess none of us realize Mother's Day is around the corner! However, I must say this is one of the most important and most celebrated date in HK! So if either your mother or grandmother or mother-in law is in town, it's time to make a booking today if you have not already and maybe then you will realize all restaurants set pretty stringent rules for May 12th and May 13th! Anyway, since my mom is in Vancouver and my mom-in-law will be traveling overseas in a few days, and it's near in the area, and other dinner buffets in Admiralty are full already, and I have a Conrad Connoisseur VIP card which offers the members 15% off, and my Lai Lai (meaning mother in law,in cantonese) remembers there is a singer at night singing in the background at the lounge, we went and did the late night buffet which currently features dishes from Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand, and with HK local favorites such as beef and fishball noodles.
However, as asked by my Lai Lai and explained by the steward that there will be no singer on this Saturday night because it's a public holiday! I don't really care because I don't think anyone came for the singer anyway; it's a nice and relaxing place to enjoy with dimmed lights and candles floating on each table. BUT, my lai lai was not happy and the best service attitude from Conrad is there. The servers were apologizing and saying sorry and saying please come next time since the singer is only not here on public holidays! Some people just don't give up.
If you realize, I am not talking about food quality and selection so much here because the buffet is priced at $288+ including a tea or coffee. With my VIP card, the bill came to be less than $1100! A buffet for 4 persons in a truly high class five star hotel in the heart of HK?? I am referring Conrad to being more upper class than the Upper House, not due to its grand lobby and chandeliers, but the patience, the smiling faces which the staffs are providing to every one of the guests present, it's truly something some newer, fancier, unfamiliar six star tallest hotel in Asia has to learn from.
Btw, the highlight was that my lai lai saw the party sitting beside us had lobsters on their plates and asked the nice server she wanted some too. Obviously, by common sense and then my eyes, the lobsters are NOT on the buffet tables and so these are probably ordered separately! However, a salute to our server is that she actually said to my lai lai that she will see what she can do.... And reappeared in 10 mins with hot and delicious lobsters halfs for her!!! Amazing service for a ma fan customer indeed!
However, don't try this with the lounge as this is so extra special for this mother because she was not happy with no singer.
题外话/补充资料：
Definitely come again and again with other more lovely and relaxed companions! Btw, the food was good just do not eat so much since there are so many selections!
