I've been trying to find the sticky sauce sweet and sour pork 拔絲咕嚕肉 that I had before at a restaurant in Sheung Wan but the chef has since left and I heard that he had come to this restaurant. When I called to make the reservation, I asked them if they had the sweet and sour pork with sticky sauce and they replied yes. When I arrived at the restaurant however, I couldn't find this dish anywhere as they only had the regular sweet and sour pork on the menu. I asked the staff and they only replied

When I arrived at the restaurant however, I couldn't find this dish anywhere as they only had the regular sweet and sour pork on the menu. I asked the staff and they only replied that that was all they had. What the?! The sole reason I came here to eat was for that dish and I can't help but feel duped. We asked them to ask the kitchen to see if they can make it but they came back with a no so we decided to try their other dishes instead.

Char Siu & Roast Goose - the BBQ items here were quite subpar. The char siu was lean and tough while the roast goose's skin wasn't crispy at all.

This vegetable dish of beans with olives was not bad but the sauce was a bit too wet and salty. It would have been better if it was drier.

The crispy chicken was adequate as the skin was crispy but it's not the best crispy chicken I've had. Acceptable but not impressive.

The egg white fried rice was another average dish as the best fried rice should be dry while you can taste each grain of rice one by rice. Not a lot of "wok" flavor here.

We tried to order something else too on their specialty menu which was a pot with taro and preserved meat. We waited and waited for quite a while before someone came out to tell us that the kitchen can't make it. Another WTF moment! Why do you have something on the menu that you can't make? Apparently it was coming out all watery and they have tried twice already. After hearing that we just cut our losses and hightailed out of there. As the prices were not cheap here either, I would rather go to Lei Garden next door instead if I was dining in the area.
