Came here with boyfriend to have dinner with his friends. As there were five of us, we ordered dishes to share.Caffe Habitu The Table is part of the Caffe Habitu and The Coffee Academics Group where their focus is on a more casual dining experience beyond their coffee shop. Prices aren't expensive, averaging under $200. The layout is like all their other shops: wooden tables, comfy sofa seats, retro decor here and there. Parma Ham and Rocket Pizza ($138). This was a thin crust pizza with a few slices of parma ham and a small sprinkle of rocket lettuce. There just wasn't enough cheese. Not a decent pizza.
Blue and Gold Nachos ($82). From the menu we were supposed to have blue and regular tortilla chips. But what we got was only one blue chip and the rest regular. The toppings were beef chili, sour cream, salsa and guacamole. There just wasn't enough of this topping. We finished the topping after we finished only 25% of the chips. Ordering nachos in Hong Kong are always a major disappointment and this ranked up there with disappointments.
Mussels Pot ($158). The good points: The bread was fantastic but not enough of! It moppped up the sauce really well. The sauce was a cream based sauce that tasted great and further proved not enough bread was given. The mussels was disappointing. Not only over cooked but the mussel meat was so tiny, we thought at first there was no meat inside the shells. Where do they find such small meated mussels????
Sausage Papparadelle in Tomato Cream Sauce ($128). The pasta was a bit over cooked and soggy. Though the sauce was fairly delicious. The sausages used was oddly soggy as well. I wonder why it wasn't grilled before hand?
Everyone's Favorite Baby Back Ribs ($178). The ribs came with tiny balsamic glazed pears, roasted cherry tomatoes and salad with balsamic vinegar dressing. The pears, though small, had a sweet tart bite. Loved it. The ribs, however, were tasteless and tough. They didn't fall off the bone. Even when the gravy was poured on top, it was still tasteless.
Though not expensive in prices, what they gave us was not value for money. Food was mediocre at best. Caffe Habitu is always rather disppointing foodwise. Drinks are ok. But food .. yeah, I tend to stay away.
