American food is never my cup of tea and that's why I have not not been to Ruby Tuesdays for almost 10 years.The food of Mega Box Ruby Tuesdays however was unexpectedly and exceptionally good:The fried chicken which was tonight special ($32 for 3 pieces) was freshly prepared.The two sauces were kind of Indian style. The fried chicken which was tonight special ($32 for 3 pieces) was freshly prepared.The two sauces were kind of Indian style. One was sweet and sour yoghurt. The other was curry. Both went well with the chicken.
I did not expect much about seafood in American restaurant. But this seafood with rice (+$200) was excellent. The fish filet and the shrimps were nicely marinated, and charcoaled. Every bite was full of taste. The seafood portion was more generous than usual but not the indian style rice.
The cheese macaroni (+$72) was fair. It was a kid meal set with soft drink and ice cream.
The bbq ribs and the chicken wings (+300) tasted better than before. But still the predominant and overwhelming sweetness stopped me to try more.
The mexican style pancake (+$200) was full of fresh avocado , tomato, pepper and charcoal chicken. Crunchy, full of favour and very appetizing, it was the gem of the night.
The portion of every dish was smaller than we expected. We additionally ordered a veggie pasta in tomato sauce (+$200). Again, the veggie portion was more than usual. The big surprise was the charcoaled big mushroom. Again, an excellent dish!
As a usual practice, we did not order any drinks. But the bill was +$1100. The food was good but I did not expect to pay so much for such a rather simple, if not humble, meal.
