A small, popular shop in Yuen Long, we waited approximately 20 minutes for a table for three on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant was crowded, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. Both options have their merits and shortcomings - while the latter would save you from the discomfort of arctic chills blowing into your face, you would have to perch on small plastic chairs while trying to avoid servers who do have a tendency to bump into diners as they attempt to consume
We all ordered the dish it is famous for - Taiwanese beef soup noodles.

While the noodles had a great texture and the broth flavourful, it's weakness shone from the star of the dish, the beef. The pieces of meat served were thick slices of beef shank sliced lengthwise, with about half an inch of tendon at each end. Indeed, the chunks of meat had absorbed the flavours and spices of the soup, however they were not braised for long enough, causing the tendons to be chewy and tough. This was disappointing as it took quite a bit of effort to bite and chew through them.
All in all, an average bowl of noodles that doesn't really live up to its hype. For $56 I could have spent it at another noodle joint with better seating and service, and probably score a more satisfying bowl of beef noodles too. The snacks and appetizers weren't cheap either, at $43 a plate. We didn't order any, but looking around at other tables they honestly did not look all too attractive.
