Seemed quite classy and nostalgic when I first glimpsed it on the side of a run down car fixing street, so I decided to take a look and try it out. I had a decent experience in the branches in CWB and Wan Chai so who knows maybe I could expect a bit more. The decor was amazing but when I walked in I always barely greeted at all: The server simply looked at me and directed me to my seat without much welcome, and without even serving water until I directed asked. The interior looked relaxing and nice though, kinda gave bar vibes.The lunch set appeared to be 1 main course and a side dish, complemented with an additional drink and salad for just less than $200 dollars, which is already a bit of a red flag since its already quite on the expensive side for a chain restaurant.  But hey maybe the quality is worth it and I think I can at least wait and judge more after being served my first dish. Oh look heres the salad...What? Thats it? Bro even my hamster can finish this in one meal...The mushroom dish was alright, the saltiness and the umami flavor was quite pleasant, but why was it so... slimy...? But obviously, these were not filling enough for me, so I decided to order an additional serving of chicken wings as well, which somehow took quicker to prepare than my actual main course.Chicken wings were nice and juicy. The addition of the orange peels was a bit of a questionable decision, since they kinda tasted like cough syrup, but at least now I can walk away slightly more satiated.Oh and here are the coffee and the burger. To be honest, I felt kinda bad knowing that there was only 1 chef working on all my meals, but this establishment should definitely send more staff/workers over since I had to painfully watch one person cook for 3 tables. Anyways, the coffee was fine, but the burger WAS HEFTY. Barely any of the toppings fitted between the buns, and the staff should have at least provided a toothpick so that I can eat all the ingredients simultaneously. All in all, would probably never come to this branch ever again due to its expensive cost despite small portions. Might as well have used 1/3 of the money I spent today on a nearby Mcdonalds meal.…查看更多

Compare and contrast the WAN Chai Coffee Academics branch with this sad excuse for a coffee shop. The WAN Chai branch is an easy 8/10. This branch is a generous 1/10. 1. No eye contact or greeting for over 2 minutes2. Place looks like a cheap cafe with stuff and boxes all over the place3. “Oven” looked like one of those ovens you find in the shrimp catching places. Horrible, burned, dirty. 4. “chef” handling cooked and raw items without washing hands. Putting the resultant mess into this “oven” to cook. 5. I really wanted a coffee and was prepared to overlook it and then… another two minutes went by and nothing. No eye contact, no greeting - not even a grunt. I turned around and left. Used to like to go the one in CWB. Was glad to see one nearby our hotel. We sat down and ordered coffees, muffin and croissant for breakfast. A waitress told us the muffin and croissant were not available after awhile. Then I asked what else bakery were available. She said it seems NONE! What?! It was 8:15! And then she left our table. I went to the coffee counter and said we rather changed to do take away of our coffee. After the coffee done, no one asked us to pick up the coffee. I saw them on the counter and asked them if they were ready. It was definitely not a busy morning. Only 2 tables at that time. 朱古力酥 $25Pain Au Chocolat 店員會先焗返熱，所以上碟時仲會熱辣辣🔥 而且表面變得好鬆脆，酥皮層次分明，口感一流😌 入邊有濃郁嘅朱古力餡，每一口都帶著濃情嘅甘苦味🍫 The pastry was reheated because it was plated, so it was hot enough and has a flakey outer layer. It was a lovely buttery pastry that had very crispy and distinctive layers.
