What better way to spend a weekend afternoon than by high teaing with friends? The high tea at the Island Shangri la is actually quite good and they have two areas where they serve afternoon tea. One is at the Lobby Lounge where you can enjoy their tea sets with piano music, but if you prefer to sit in a more cosy environment, their cafe downstairs may be a better choice. Since the Lobby Lounge was full that day, we took our tea at the cafe. They have 3 tea sets to choose from: traditional, straw

Since the Lobby Lounge was full that day, we took our tea at the cafe. They have 3 tea sets to choose from: traditional, strawberry and chocolate (which was only recently included as a selection). Between the three of us we shared the traditional and chocolate tea set.
Scones were served first, plain, raisin and chocolate with the ever present cream, strawberry and marmalade jam. These are one of the better scones I have had in HK, not too crumbly or dense in texture with a pleasantly light buttery aroma. I wasn't as impressed with the chocolate scone as it was significantly drier with not much cocoa flavour.
The drinks were good too, my friends ordered ice teas, which had ice cubes made from the tea itself while I had a latte, made perfectly for my taste
