I came for a late lunch so the restaurant was not too full. Due to the experience last year, I decided to ask clearly that I will be having their Christmas set menu before being seated. The set menu has no discount even for magic access member. As the set menu includes a drink, I opted not to have the tea and premeal snacks. So the taste of the food was not the problem but rather the speed, which was lightening fast. I understand if there is a long queue, you want the turnover to be quicker but it was half empty at that time. Excluding the dessert, 4 of the courses were served almost in 5 minutes. This not only was relatively unpleasant but actually affected the quality of the food indirectly.Unlike last year, where the staff would ask whether to keep the lid to keep it warm, they immediately removed it and walked away swiftly to the point I don't have the time to ask them to keep the lid. The taste was ok though I had to eat it really quick due to the cold weather. The fried rice was also quite dry though the good thing was it was not too oily. The prawn and asparagus/broccoli with compoy was one of the dishes that needed time to be prepared and was served at an appropriate time. I was wondering why so much sauce was left in the end and it finally clicked. The chef's original intention was likely for this dish to be served with the fried rice. Thus when you have this dish with the fried rice it would have been a great combo. However due to this mismatch of serving speed, the end result was the fried rice was dry and the prawn/broccoli had too much sauce left. One can argue, I should have ate it less quickly but then the rice would have been cold by then.Overall, the experience was less than magical compared to last year. I was initially looking forward to try their 20th anniversary set menu but likely won't after this experience. …查看更多
