一直想去這間由知名食家創辦的餐廳,拖拉了一段時間,今日終於剔起心肝一家人去一探虛實。「留家廚房」位於灣仔一幢普通商業大廈樓上,地理位置唔算特別理想,室外景觀完全欠奉。至於室內裝修,只可以用「平實」兩個字去形容。「留家廚房」的賣點並不是鮑參翅肚等名貴菜式,而係原汁原味、不添加任何味精雞精的心機粵菜;部份菜式雖然有點似住家菜,卻是考功夫兼花時間的老派粤菜,即類似近十年八載大熱的私房菜。以上幾點宗旨以今時今日的飲食潮流來說沒什麼特別,但「留家廚房」開業於2004年,以當年的標準來定義,已經比別人走前了一步,直逼五星級酒店中菜廳的水準了。餐廳一直十分重視菜式選材,既與元朗八鄉農莊合作採購本地種植有機蔬菜,甚至搜羅大嶼山二澳種植的本地稻米!老闆積極支持本地農業復耕的態度實在十分值得推崇。除了二澳米之外,尚有其他三種靚米選擇。為了突顯這四種優質稻米的珍貴,特別採用「高溫蒸氣電磁感應 IH 電飯煲」煲飯,並且高調陳列在餐廳顯眼處,還要一律只賣 $20 一碗。對比普通白米飯都要 $16 一碗,就一點也不覺得貴了 ⋯⋯ 只可惜是結帳後,走到餐廳門口才發現有四種靚米可供選擇,所以沒有機會一嚐。留家煙燻雞(
