My friend and I were walking the streets of causeway and stumbled upon this busy tea shop. Looking at the menu, there were a lot of fruit drink choices with cheese; it was slightly confusing because we hadn’t “drank cheese” before and the idea seemed a little odd. However, the fruit and cheese drink made up about half of the options on the menu, so my friend decided to try the “Cheese Strawberry” and I went with the “Super Fresh Fruit Tea” (oolong). There was about a 15 minute wait for our drink
There was about a 15 minute wait for our drinks, probably because we went on a Sunday, but the drinks were also being made slower than an average tea shop.
Nearing our call for the drink, I saw a worker use a blowtorch and broil the cheese that sat on top of what looked to be juice of the specified fruit, like flaming the sugar on a crème brûlée. It was quite entertaining!
We finally got our orders and they were quite aesthetically pleasing. As for the taste, my “Super Fresh Fruit Tea” had the initial taste of just mixed fruit drink (pineapple, orange, lemon, lime, passion fruit, watermelon, apple...), and at the end there is a hint of tea. There wasn’t anything special about it, considering it costed $42, but I would recommend it to someone who does not mind splurging a little bit and wants a refreshing drink in the hot hot weather! As for the “Cheese Strawberry”... It is indescribably amazing! To break it down, the workers told us to tip the cup higher when we drink, so we can taste the smoothie and the cheese together. I wouldn’t have thought that cheese and strawberry go well together, but they do! The cheese on top just tastes like cheesecake with less sugar and a little more cheese; the consistency is like thick whipped cream. Finally, the strawberry part tastes like a classic strawberry smoothie. Both of these together just tastes like paradise... This costed $42.
All in all, I thought the drinks were a great buy, would definitely come back again even though it’s pricey and takes a while. Worth trying!
