I have been always wanted to visit this japanese kushiyaki near LKF. The cozy settings with seats mainly facing the chef at the bar makes it very japanese style. Wide range of sake and skewers to match every customers appetite. The sake was contained within the masu (the square red box) and staff will pour the sake, overflowing the glass until the masu is full! It is one of the culture in Japan and really signify the generosity of the restaurant. This little act does make customer welcomed and to order more kushiyaki to go with the sake~ This is a velvety sake which is easy drinking. The ricy taste and the polished percentage with a degree of sweet lingering definitely open up your appetite for the coming meal.

Happy hour dish 1 - Burdock pickles

The first entree dish for the happy hour set is the burdock pickles. The crunchy texture is somewhat similar to the lotous root. With the taste similar to ginseng to a certain extend, the burdock is less bitter with more pronounce sweetness.

The second entree dish for the happy hour set is the dried puffer fish. They were grilled with a sprinkle of salt until the fish is coated with the fish oil. The firm texture is similar to dried squid but much less chewy. It is perfect when you paired with the kewpie mayonaise.
Moving on to the kushiyaki, we ordered few different kinds of chicken skewers and ox tongue.

The major difference between Keyaki and other kushiyaki restaurant is that Keyaki use real charcoal to grill their skewers to add additional smokiness and flavour to the skewers. We also ordered some green peppers and sweet potatos. The breed of the green peppers and sweet potato were tiny! but tiny enough so that you can eat the whole potato in one bit and enjoy everything inside your mouth.

We also tried the iberico pork with rich aromas and tender in texture~

The other must try dish is the grilled A5 wagyu and cost $290 only! The "melt in your mouth" texture with medium intense in terms of beef taste.

Although they didn't ask us about the doneness of the beef, it was grilled to the default medium with some pink meat in the middle~ It is still considered very juicy taking consideration that the steak wasn't that thick. Since with that thickness, you might expect to be quite dry if it were cooked in a different yakitori restaurant.

This luxurious meal was finished off with a bowl of udon. The soup was simple, not too rich that might overcome the other ingredients. Udon itself has good texture, topped with seaweed with only mild saltiness. This makes a perfect ending for our full tummy.
