Hello everyone, I found this restaurant called cafe 82 on a lovely sunny day. Looking at the menu, you will expect a high quality with its relative high price of 70 to 138. I would say this restaurant is really meets the expectation in quality and operates very well in the market for Western foods.
I ordered a smoked salmon risotto and a medium well(70% done steak)
Out of the two dishes, the risotto is my favourite. The restaurant uses fresh vegetables like asparagus to draw out the fresh taste of the salmon and risotto. I especially like the taste of the risotto. Unlike rice, you can taste every piece of grain in your mouth like a bunch of beans floating around. When you crunch on them, they instantly fade away in an effect I can only describe as satisfaction, its like eating a soft bean soup. With the use of the tomato sauce glueing these risotto together, the rich tomato flavor stays in your mouth for a while before you take your second bite at this dish.
I especially like the use of cherry tomatoes in this dish, further emphasising the freshness and taste of tomato in the dish. The dish is a rich blend of tomato flavor with smoked salmon doted here and there. I believe this dish is why there are such long lines in front of the restaurant. I even brought some back to enjoy.

As for the steak, I initially thought it would meet the quality of restaurants in TST, being one of the most expensive dishes in the lunch menu.

On the outlook, the dish does not look the most appealing l, with a red stain on the side of the dish, with the vegetables randomly placed on the dish. It seems the person preparing the steak was quite careless, as they did not bother to place it nicely, and instead dragged the piece of steak atop the dish and call it done.
Now with the steak itself, the steak itself exceeds the expectations the the look has set it, but this is not to spare it from criticism. There are a few black burnt marks visible on the steak, something you do not expect from a medium well steak. I think what happenend was the fire for the steak is turned on too high, causing a few marks.
However, the potato in the steak is much better. It has a thin baked layer which when bitten down, will reveal a soft potato, satisfying to bite down on.
Overall, this restaurant is quite worth the price it goes for in its foods, especially in its risotto. But there are notable improvements in its steak.
